Any fab runners, walkers or cyclists use this to track your miles? Just looking for opinions on whether it’s worth becoming a subscriber or does the free version cover most of what you need?

Near Leeds

We use Strava but just the free version. Never really explored the subscription.

The free version gives me top line stats, splits, routes etc.... enough for me to be honest.

Somewhere near here

I use it daily for walks, I cancelled my subscription, didn’t feel worth it. However, the free version only tracks runs and bike rides for total miles and analysis. Some walkers categorise their walks as runs so they can see their total mileage, I just use a separate app for that instead

I use the free version, I don’t see the need to subscribe, the garmin site also gives me what I need

Stay with the free version.

Not worth the extra expenditure

I used to use it but prefer Suunto's app and Komoot

Not far

I’m a subscriber because for me the extra features are worth it, such as tracking fitness, heart rate zones, and other geeky analysis stuff.

I downloaded it and got rid of it.

My Fitbit is better for walking and bike rides.

A lot of the time the software you get with the tracking device will give you the same data as Strava. The segment thing is ok but I’ve known people to drive to a particular segment and run as fast as they can to get to the top

Worth it for me as I like the additional analysis. I also run a group, membership helps me with some additional features.

Personal preference I guess.

Out n About

I'm a tight wod so I use sports tracker that I found on Google play store. I use it for cycling and walks I'm happy with the detail available, distance, peak and average speeds. It also linked to Google maps

I use Strava, but I don’t pay for it, I have Garmin Connect if I want to look more at the data.

I miss that you can’t see the leaderboards when you get a KOM though.

Thanks everyone! We will start with the free version and then can upgrade if we think we need to. I’ll just be using it for walks, Mr is more into fitness than me lol.

Both use it but need it for performance data and training. Doing triathlon means we're constantly looking at previous stats and segments are great for certain terrain comparisons.

I've only ever used the free version. It did what I wanted it to do although with the premium one you can use beacon (I think) to show live location on runs so people know you're safe.

I think you can also add exclusion zones on your postcode so that people can't see where you start and end your runs.

I am a subscirber and enjoy the data, training info and routes functions a lot, particularly for creating routes for navigation on my Garmin.
