I would be raging x i can't stand people that pull out of a meet at the last minute never mind going all that way and not answering the door x and i would be embarrassed for actually going without checking the usual run of the mill things |

If that's just happened, well done for trusting and following your impulse.
But yeah we've probably all done it at some point. Only to learn to be more thorough in preparation.
I drove from london to maidstone at 2am in the morning,on impulse, but it was a winner! So you just never know. |

It happened me once. We had chatted a lot here and we arranged to meet. I drove almost 80 miles and then he said something else had turned up and he had to sort it, sorry. I left his house, immediately blocked him then drove home again feeling very pissed off. No second chance! |

"If you got invited to a house for a meet up, you then drive 45 Miles each way they don’t answer the door ? "
In normal times it would be a bit of a pisser...if its happened during lockdown then I'm glad your selfishness jas been rewarded. |

"If you got invited to a house for a meet up, you then drive 45 Miles each way they don’t answer the door ? " do the lateral flow test ...sit in the car for half hour waiting for the results...if negative ..post them through the letterbox ...if positive drive home |

I wouldn't have driven that far without being sure. There's ways and means. Have driven a two hour journey before now, but was confident she was going to be there when I arrived.
Impulsive, you tend to get what you deserve.
Due diligence, you always get what you deserve. |

Depends, we wouldn't travel that far without building up a connection and trusting them.
If it was genuinely an emergency then that's fair enough, can't be mad at that
However if the reason wasn't that "important" if you like (I know this will mean different things to different people) we would be pissed off yes

If I'd never met them before, there's no way I'd have travelled. I don't do impulse meets unless I know them and know they wouldn't pull such a crappy stunt |

How do you know it was their actual house. I would want to see a driving licence, DBS enhanced check and a utility bill before I went to a strangers house.
If I knew them and they did that without a very good excuse (death or they where in A&E), I would quicky unfriend them.
Luckily in was on a 45 minute drive. |

"This didn't happen to you about 8 hours ago did it, when you were looking for a mfm party?"

"We would be furious. Would you not do a social meet first to ensure they are genuine?
Many people are all talk and no action on this site."
Valid point |

Just don't do what one guy did with me
He was early
I was in the shower
He didn't get an answer cos I didn't hear the door or the mobile
So he climbed over the back wall and tried to force entry |

You have to admire his enthusiasm at least! |

Report the profile as a no show, explaining in the report that I drove 45 mins for the privilege of being left looking like a nugget.
I'd have also waited 15 mins and knocked again in case they were having a pre meet nerves poo when I knocked the first time.
I've been tempted to accept invites throughout lockdown and give fake details as a bit of a fuck you to people who were actively rule breaking, but didn't have the balls. |

Secret hideaway in the pennines |
A few years ago, I booked and paid for a hotel for a meet halfway between each other, we had been chatting for a while, first on here, then on the phone. Everything was fine, I turned up to the hotel, checked in, sent her a message to say I was there and the room number. She didn't show, and blocked me from contact.
I was pretty pissed off at the time, but as has been said, people can change their mind. It would have been nice just to get an apology though |
