I didn't want to take over another fab members "it's ok to not be ok" post so I started this one.

Please can I ask everyone politely to take 5 minutes into reading this website information and then give up half an hour or so to complete the modules ?

Experience tells me that if someone is really determined to take their own life their is very little you can do but for a lot it's a reach out for help.

If just one life is saved by someone completing this course and recognising the signs it will be well worth it.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart to anyone who does give half an hour to complete it.

Please admin don't take it down because this is people's life's we're talking about and saving families and friends years of trauma to get over a loss.

If you got this far and do go on to complete the modules you're a special person xx

It was free when I did it so hopefully that's the same now.

You can post the words (not the exact link) on a thread so that people can search for it. Maybe do that on the other thread? In case this disappears.

Thank you I (miss) have always suffered with my mental health. I'm stable now and have been for a few years but it took a long time to get there. It's nice to see others wanting to learn more about it to help others. Massive respect to you all.

P.s. if anyone does need just a normal chat my pm is open its not all about hook ups.

I want to point out that I DO NOT have mental health issues and have never felt suicidal. Just in case people think that participation indicates this.

The training was great Sam thanks.

I'm really glad I did it.

Thank you, just that one comment on it's own has made it worthwhile

I had an uncle who took his own life when I was younger and have had to deal with students whom have taken their own lives, never easy thing to deal with.

Well done for the post.

A wonderful share, thank you. I lost a boyfriend to suicide, I didn't see the signs and missed a call from him the night he died because we'd had a massive argument the previous day. I'll never forgive myself, but this course was so amazing and really helped me in the weeks after his death.

If anyone is interested, there's a 3 day course called ASIST, all about suicide prevention and was so useful and insightful.

Thank you so much OP

I got a certificate and I won't lie ....... I'm bloody made up with it.

People.......... Do this please. Waiting is too late.

I feel like i'd have a starting point to help if I noticed signs now. Now I won't feel at a loss or stand there thinking should I ? Shouldn't I ? I just will ....

Go on do it.

It has never been more important. The last year has really messed with our minds.

I lost an aunt to suicide 11 years ago. She left behind 3 beautiful children & my family has never recovered

That’s very true. We hear this all the time it’s just ‘a cry for help’ like it’s not that important and that if they really wanted to they could. But for the person it’s a desperate cry for help , often when they have suffered a long time and been unable to get help and don’t know what else to do.

Thanks for sharing this , bookmarking.

I recently sat in a freezing cold A&E all night with someone in my lap , being woke up every couple of hours to check bloods and pulse, being told again and again there’s nothing they can do , wait for the morning crisis team, get some counselling , phyche appointment cancelled due to COVID, next one available is in June....we’re in a mess and it’s getting worse
