I thought I’d create a post for a bit of fun about naughty statues, paintings & buildings, not sure how well it will go down, but let’s see.
What I mean by the title, is pieces of artwork & architecture that are a bit rude and have/had caused a stir when created.
So to start this thread, I offer you ‘Dickie Lewis’ statue in Liverpool (google for a pic).
This is not its real name, actually called ‘Liverpool Resurgent‘, but is the name known to many locals.
‘Lewis’ is because it is located on the the former Lewis’ department store.
‘Dickie’ because the sculpture is a bronze naked man with very prominent cock & balls.
Amusingly, before mobile phones it was a landmark you’d tell a date to meet you at, many couples met under his bollocks!
Any other nominations for the thread?
