I have just been looking at the medal tables, so proud of our sportsmen and women.
Looking down the table, its great to be creaming the French and the Aussies  |

I've been looking at the medal tally for Beijing too and it seems there were a lot more medals up for grabs in general. The Russians got 23 golds and 80+ it total but they're nowhere near that and there's only a week to go. Where are the medals?  |

guessing more younger athletes have been brought up solely by the former soviet block nation then 4 years ago ... hence bigger spread of medals amongst the former members of the union |
