Soft but not sticky, but never seem to get it right, my lovely lady Jayne is hopeless at rice too!!!!

Apparently the rice in a bag that you microwave is supposed to be quite good.
Not that I would try them, as it is really easy to cook rice to perfection, for me that is, as I have had plenty of practice!  |

I do like Japanese rice when it is slightly more sticky
Also glutenous rice with is very sticky, made with lots of yummy Chinese dried meat and dried shitake mushrooms etc... |
