"Absolutely nothing to do with this site really but... does anyone have any tricks or tips to get rid of heartburn "
Lansaprazole. I get it on prescription and just one a day stops me from getting it, red wine on the other hand seems to be a cause of it, as are pastries and all the other things I like |

"Is it just heartburn or Reflux ??
If it's a regular occurrence get it checked out "
Like he said. Definitely get it checked out if it's regular to rule out things like gastritis. |

It’s only when I drink cider! Amount doesn’t make a difference I could have literally one drop! |

If it's regular, go to your gp. There is medication they can prescribe which reduces the amount of acid your stomach produces, which will mean less heart burn. It was very effective for me. |

Yeah I control it really well since understanding it. Basically for me Coffee, alcohol, particular rum abs whisky, fizzy drinks , spices, oils, citric acid - so most things I like - all remove layers and the chalk adds layers, so if I need to eat that food, I add a few layers before and after. Problem Sorted |

"Try milk xx
Thanks!
Cold milk works x"
Short term only - there is a lot of evidence that cows milk will only serve to produce more lactic acid in the stomach & increase indigestion / reflux.
If you want to try milk try non - dairy milk like almond milk & avoid other dairy products for a while |

Dissolve bicarbonate of soda in a little warm water, add a bit of sugar...its an old remedy but it sure works...even gp's now are prescribing bicarbonate capsules where some meds are an irrtitant. |

Have a look at the bottle and see if it contains Sulphites - if it does you may have an allergy to added sulphites.
They are adding large amounts to all sorts of food and drink now so it keeps for a very long time. It makes me very ill. |

Look up info on apple cider vinegar.
Weird that it seems by drinking an acid to fight an acidic gastric problem it has been known to help.
I drink it for other health benefits and I don't personally suffer from heartburn anyway.
Just that in researching it myself there was lots of information online & on YouTube as to how this can help those who have heartburn and acid reflux.
Gotta be worth looking into! |

If you’re suffering from regular heart burn, you need to see your GP, but it can largely be managed by adjusting your diet.
Try not to get put onto lansoprazole if you can help it, they aren’t good long term.
If you need a short term solution, a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda dissolved in a glass of water can help. |

Occasional? I take some milk or calcium carbonate, possibly both. Propping your head slightly higher in bed, may be helpful.
Indigestion can be a sign of, or mask, other problems - hence the checks, to be sure. |
