Friend has a 14 plate evoke, not had any trouble with it other than what you’d expect from a 7 yo car although it’s low mileage, less than half the avg.
I have a Jag F-Pace, love it, highly recommend from my experience |

Also, last year, before I bought the Jag I ended a 3 year lease of a 17 plate Nissan Quasqui. Only got it as I needed something cheap and immediately available. Quite frankly it was sensational |

No chance with Quasqui. Something about them I hate. Could be even the name |

"It does depend on how much you want to spend. Avoid anything with a wankel engine! Lol"
Mazda CX5 and C30 is off the table then. Yeah don't want to spend ridiculous money. |

Thanks mate. I won't be doing any offroading in it. Don't want to cause any paintwork damage etc. Need to get me out of bit of snow mud etc that's all. |

I always buy ford 4x4 trucks for daily use american variants though (f150 petrol) cannot fault them at all. The new rangers are very troublesome engine wise. Personally id not be buying a diesel if buying new though. Hold out and wait for EV.

Depends on your budget. £30k for a 3 year old car (£90k new). |

In that case go with the F. I drive both before I bought, diesel F, petrol E. believe it or not the F is light and felt more agile. Compared, the E felt like driving through sand. |

I know what you mean OP, and as I said I was kinda forced into the choice, but I will say there wasn’t a day in the 3 years I regretted the decision. Doesn’t have much image, but I knew why it’s the biggest selling SUV. |

Yes my man! And agree Ford Ranger is horrible to drive! Wish I could have afforded an American pick up (or a Mustang) |

As a pure Landrover girl, the Evoke is not a Landrover . Landrovers shifts stuff eg pull great big trailers. They live in mud, leak at least a pint of oil a week and can carry 7 people plus payload.
Evokes cry at the sight of a puddle and can only be used for school runs if you have 2 children max. |

Have a look at Audi A6 Allroad and Volvo V60 Cross Country.
Both are effectively estate cars but jacked up a bit higher, 4 wheel drive, decent MPG and oddly both are very nice to drive. Both have been out a few years now so should be good second hand values.
Or a Hilux, but that'd a slightly different option |

My mum had a Hyundai Santa Fe 4 x 4 - was lovely to drive and comfy on long car journeys and a big boot which carried a fold down mobility scooter (a big bulky one) on many occasions so plenty of space. |

Have you not considered an X3 or X5, perhaps M sport if you don't want to sacrifice power?
Decent performance, good reliabilty and practical. That said, unless necessary, personally I wouldn't move away from a sports car.
