Hi,

Not really done this before so thought I’d give it a whirl!

With gyms opening back soon anyone got any naughty gym stories?

Squats in the curl rack, that really pisses them off

Only if you dropped them loudly with a huge grunt. Bonus points if it was the lightest dumbbells.

This can count because I once forgot how physics works when I took all the plates off one side of the barbell when doing squats. The loud clang of the weights falling made me want the ground to swallow me up

I remember at college my tutor doing this, and I’m not even lying here, the blind ex pro power lifter was the other side and the bar flipped over and hit him.

Central

Someone spent almost an hour in a large floor area, covering it with multiple debris, spending time on their phone, including pic taking, to do 1 stretch. The lop sided weights should have fallen that way. This type of person also follows their superhuman grunts from lifting 5Kg, with extensive porn soundtrack sounds whilst stretching and cooling down.

Went to gym one day,sat there texting someone and left home after an hour. Perfect workout without breaking a sweat.

I once saw someone taking the last plate off only one side of the bar on a squat rack luckily nobody injured... I just glanced over as it happened otherwise I would’ve rushed over to tell the person you need to evenly take both sides off...

Some say it’s the best machine in the gym

If you get a family bag of Monster Munch and a can of Lilt you can get some good gains and feel the burn.

Probably my most embarrassing moment at the gym was when I couldn’t get the doors open to leave, I’d gone a bit hard pumping iron and I couldn’t move my arms, plus they were shaking, the receptionist had to pull the door open for me, she said don’t worry you’re not the first, but I think she was just being kind, I think I was the first.

Speaking as a receptionist in a gym there’s been many instances where I’ve had to open doors for people after a session.

A few guys even told me they couldn’t get their car keys out their pockets and I’ve had to put my hand in their pockets as well.

I mean I’d also have to come up with a lame excuse to be able to formulate a string of words to be able to talk to you haha!

Last lock down something sort of similar but thankfully no one saw, I was fine leaving feeling quite smug, until I got home and went to lay on bed, couldn’t lift my arms to support my weight as I dropped to the bed and face planed it haha.

I swear this is the last time I’m going through this DOMS crap

I didn't do that. I did get cramp in my foot, my brain went "move it now"...

All the weight, on one leg, halfway through my movement... Unsurprisingly I didn't keep my balance, went down, somehow got trapped with weights and bar and rack... My PT had turned her back for half a minute...

She then took about 2 minutes to recover from laughing at me.
