After reading a few threads lately about how hard it can be as a newbie on fab, I thought it might be nice to have a thread to either introduce yourselves to everyone or welcome and chat to all the new ones here.
I've been here before a few years ago, I was a regular poster in the forums and now I'm back again, it can be daunting trying to step back into it all again.
So come and say hello, meet new people, meet the 'forumites' (I actually hate that word!) and have a space to feel free to post away!

I think so too. I have always liked to connect on a more familiar level which is possible as you read what they have to say.
I've only ever met from the forums, I think I just felt more comfortable that way x |

I think it’s nice to offer a welcome to new folk. Even though some people have been here before or been on for a while. It’s hard to break the ice and form friendship bonds. And god knows we have needed them over this last year. |

I've come to the conclusion dipping in and out is they best way to handle it here and not let your self be engulfed by it all, especially at this time.

We got away with calling ourselves newbies for a couple of years but now in our third or fourth year that claim no longer works.
We will soon be firmly on the down slope to becoming cynical old has-beens. |

Even if means you get to post your first post. I was just messaging someone and remembered my first ever post in Fab, hands shaking and wondering if I'd be accepted and if anyone would even bother reading!
If this thread just gives a few people space with like minded people to take that first step, then that's a great thing |

And PNG you might want to double check your phone spec - Samsung had a period where their phones weren't waterproofed a year or so ago, as I discovered (fortunately not to my cost) last summer when mine died after getting wet. |

We still consider ourselves newbies and newbies to the forums only joined in on them this year.
We speak to some lovely friendly people from the forums though that we haven't found on searches/updates etc

Good, it can be a bit of a jump into the unknown at first but quite a lot of the regular users have posted here too. I'm sure they will be just as welcoming.
It just takes time, I know it took me a while to feel confident and yes, when no one knows you, it can feel like you're not being acknowledged. It'll happen though, there's enough new people to help everyone out as well xx |

Newbie here to the site looking to see where we go. Unlike most we have been pleased things have been on lockdown as it has given us a bit of time to get used to the site, have some contact with people without having to think or rush into meeting face to face. |
