Choose plants that suit the room they're in - so, as an example, if you have low light, don't choose ones that need lots of light

It's hard to comment on decor without seeing the room

I tend to mix things up, some things from B&M, others from charity shops / antique shops, other bespoke pieces

I have a few Monster sculptures by a local independent potter, they're inexpensive, unusual and a talking point, even if the talking point is 'what the hell are them?'

There's a bit of my living room in my public pics, I think the monsters are there too

What's your budget? IKEA are pretty good and have a good variety of home decor. You could also try The Range, Home Bargains and B&M.

I love Dunelm.

Liverpool

Wayfair are pretty good for furniture. Dunelm and surprisingly Asda's home stuff is great for smaller bits.

Worthing

Sometimes less is more. I don't like too much 'clutter' on fireplaces, bookcases etc.

I am fond of a mixed between scandinavian and moroccan home style deco.

Wooden home furniture, with bright red/blue/yellow carpets

Brighton - even Hove!

Seriously, I’d consider the age and style of your house. Nothing looks more naff than Victorian in a Queen Anne.

OP, your profile pic makes me think you’re a fan of fur? How about getting a faux fur throw for a sofa or something?

I'm down for a 70's Phone and wood chip if I can swap the Edwardian table for a bit of shagpile

East Sussex

we've got quite a bit of furniture that we've bought in charity shops and have (I don't like this word) upcycled. I think it probably shows our character and I'd suggest trying that for someone who wants to add individuality without breaking the budget.
