End of Mondeo end of an era

Suffolk - East Anglia

Ford will be ceasing production of the Mondeo this month. We've never had one, (Audi owner) but always liked Fords and the 3 box family saloon since the Cortina.

Sad time - end of an era.

I had a "modified" one and it was fantastic!

Plus, so comfy on motorways, they really were made for them.

Also had a workhorse diesel one and slower but so much space!

Oh really, indeed a milestone in their history.

What are they replacing it with?

I don't know what the replacement, if any will be. Apparently the market for this type of car has diminished. We're supposed to drive SUV's or electric now. Hmm.

Or the Cortina..or Zephyr bench seat.

Had an affair with a girl called Nina

In the back of my Cortina.

... Now nobody has written a song about a mondeo.

They certainly were better in the 80's/early 90's!! The Mondeo was ok in btcc, the RS500 was a million times better!

Dubai & Nottingham

Loved Mondeo when I was younger with little kids. My first company car was a 2.0 Tdci 115bhp, my colleagues took the piss as I could have had any car I wanted including Audi or BMW, but I chose top of the range Mondeo - the benefit tax was super low and I could get camping gear and 2 kids bikes in the boot abd drive to south of France on £75 of diesel
