Excellent call.

The man was a social outcast genius and changed the entire shape of WW2.

Didn't recieve 1/10th of the respect and recognition he deserved.

Anyone who isn't aware and wants to see light education I recommend "The imitation game" starring Benedict Cumberbatch to get an insight into his life and the way he challenged authority and changed military tactics through the war.

My late dad (he was a maths teacher) told me about this chap.

What an unbelievable mind he had. I would rank him alongside Hawking.

It's official and here's Half-Asleep Chris's YT video on it

Shame that I'll never get to use one.

Bet the shop keepers will say, there's too many fakes of it already, so I can't take it.

Before you ask £50 is just about a full tank of petroll for me, so that's the only time I spend so much, instore at anyone time.

I think its good but also a slap in the face to a man who is literally the father of the modern day PC.

He should be on the £5 note as a constant reminder of how brilliant the UK is

Well, at least it wasn't Thatcher. Mind you a lot of retailers hate £50 notes.

Saying that, he was the influence for Apple or so rumour goes, after eating that poisoned apple.

The £5 note should have John Hurt on it, because he was the voice of that monumental AIDS advert that helped to break the taboo and ignorance. Which ewe should all be grateful for.

AIDS: don't die of ignorance

COVID: don't die from fake news

Thank fuck that Trump the lump wasn't in charge then, nor was the fake news industry able to pollute the minds of the world in minutes.

No, there's a far better one: Breaking the Code (BBC, 1996) from the play by Hugh Whitemore, and starring Derek Jacobi as Turing. You can find it at www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nBGz7WqtUI (It's the US version in the Masterpiece Theatre series, with a short intro from Russell Baker for the Americans.)

It is absolutely crazy how unappreciated he was at the time and how the establishment did bot help him given his contribution. Does not compute!
