A genuine question for the people are very open and don’t disguise their identities. Aren’t you worried if someone see it you knew or work?
I guess not or you wouldn’t do it, maybe I just answered my own question lol |

If they saw it they'd be on here to so what do you think they would do.... Out themselves?
I didn't show my face previously but not too bothered now. A fair few at work already know anyway. |

I was recognised by one of the managers from a different branch who contacted me on FB before I had my face on show. He recognised my tattoos.
People can be so easily recognisable from their wallpaper and location to furniture, to body parts. I spotted my ex in a group photo on someone else's profile..... and all I could see was his knee and calf. No scars, no stand out features.
Of course not everyone will recognise you by a thumb or toe, but if ya really want to make sure, you need to blur the background or whatnot too. |

When I first joined Fab over 10 years ago I think it said something advising to have a face picture so I did but was apprehensive about I still have a face picture and only on one occasion a couple of years ago did I receive a message saying they saw me shopping that day and do I still work for so and so company.I was worried about it when I received that message as it was from a tv / ts person but I decided not to respond to the message and just deleted it |

Nope.
We have no children to worry about. Neither of us have jobs where it could cause issues and we're not ashamed of being swingers or sexually liberated.
Couldn't care less who sees my mug on here

I only have my face pic as private so I can choose who to show it to. I don't meet or chat to anyone who lives in the small area that I do. I don't want anyone I haven't chosen to be friends with approaching me as I live alone and take care of my personal safety.
Most people on Fab are great but there could always be an idiot who doesn't understand you may not want to be approached. |

I did on my last profile buttimes have changed & i dont want to be openly recognised.
As for concerns over work, legally they have no grounds to do anything to you, giving its all consensual & in your free time (those workplace onces...well).
Plus it does lessen the mailbox meaning i dont lose messages as much

It is not my workplace directly, it is my profession. There is a clause that is linked to the public perception. |

Who defines public perception though? Its not like almost everyone uses dating apps...
surely whatever happened would need to be a news worthy or police worthy incident rather than just on here, plus they have to be on here to see you so kinda puts them in same bracket & therefore same public perception....hit the complained with the exact same back.
jeez, just about every adult has sex, with whom or doing what is no one elses business long as its consensual etc...i do wish they would stop the nonsense between sex life & everything else |

Why does it baffle you that some folks don't want others to know how they go about their sex life? |

We mask our faces.
It isn’t so much that like minded adults will see your pics on this site, it is that the pics can easily be downloaded and then end up anywhere else on the internet.
Very easy for someone to be vindictive and post your pics in places that could cause embarrassment or trouble (especially a problem if you have kids). |

I think it's personal preference but being aware of the impact on those around you ie kids etc.
There are plenty of people who enjoy gossip and making mischief for people. |

it's personal preference isn't it.
i sometimes do, sometimes don't.. depends on my mood.
if people know me, they know my tattoos, so im not exactly unidentifiable.. and i go on cams, so it's silly really isn't it
more power to those who choose to, and those who like that bit of anonymity.

No, it baffles me that work places have any say over someone's life.
Being on fab for instance is completely legal as is consensual sex regardless of type or kink involved or where it is found or with whom.
Its a ridiculous clause. |

I am not losing a professional qualification that took me years to acquire and develop, for some nasty small minded little twunt to report me for spite. I am happy to share face photos to those I feel some connection or possibility, but not to millions 'just looking'. From a safety aspect, women have posted on here of men recognising them and approaching them in the street, and even following them home. |

I have to say I’m intrigued that any profession would have an issue with it in this day and age.
If the Armed Forces can be OK with a serving airman being nominated for a gay porn award, I’d have thought that we’re past that sort of thing. People’s private lives should not affect their professional life. |

I'm pretty sure some of the external (foreign) agencies we work with would take serious exception to such deviants being in contact with their youth. What is legal and what is sensible can be two different things. |

Luckily, I haven’t worked for seventeen years.
I also don’t find being sexually liberated embarrassing. All my friends and family know about Fab, including my sons, who just find it amusing! My mum, in particular, loves my Fab anecdotes. She's even driven me to clubs, bless her.
If I get a job as a kindergarten teacher, or the Pope's PA, obviously I’ll hide my fat little face! |

In the past i have had some reservations as again like a lot of people there was a fear of being recognised and my reputation with my work couldve been affected. Now though, I'm more established so is less of an issue |

Well there's a thing!
I was scrolling my pics last week and discovered two of my face pics were set to public
No idea how long they been like that. I definitely set them private when I loaded them
What does piss me off is people not recognising difference between online and offline life. I've had people approach me in pub (remember them?) announcing loudly "him over there tells me you are....from..... site"
Not quite the same thing but I have bumped in to people in from my office in what is euphemistically called "a mucky sauna". They FREAKED |

Worth remembering that anything you post online can easily be copied and used by someone else for whatever they want. Each to their own but imo its not worth the risks. |

We had some Jackass say he was going to tell Kitty’s mum, and ‘the whole of Wellington’! Because we turned him down!
Well joke was on him, our closest friends know we’re on here as do parents (sort of, they know we have an ‘unusual’ relationship). I’m pretty sure 99% of people in our home town wouldn’t give a rats arse what we did if they don’t know us. So it was no threat! |

"Some of us have jobs/professions that can be affected by being recognised on here." i always wonder what sort of job you’re in there. Is it an issue with your employer or your clients?
Anyway to answer the original question? Yeah maybe a little, but hey we’re all gear for the same reason I’d guess so why worry? |

Lost my 20 year job with the council for them.
Ex contacted my business network colleagues, my clients and neighbours with my pic.
Self employed, had guys try to black mail me into having sex with them, told them to go fuck themselves and dobbed them in with their emails and texts instead. It doesn't embarrass me, but I won't put up with misogyny.

Totally get folks choices why not btw, wasn't trying to demise reason.
Just about everyone has taken pics (which an ex or current) can get a hold of & pass about, even an innocent taken one like checking back tan lines in mirror can be posted & set maliciously (had that done with others that were never sent to anyone but auto uploaded to cloud & forgot about). He set up accounts using work email & set to 40 collegues implying an affair as well (not true), was not & could not be sacked for that as i did nothing wrong & what i do with my sex life/photos is my own business.
His whole tactic was to try make out to be some kind of prostitute psycho, neither worked. I returned to work knowing they'd all seen it, despite it & hr claiming otherwise. Nothing to be ashamed of, its just a body & they are adults...pretty sure they've all seen one & that was in a pretty religious country too.
Even in child facing roles - one kids shouldnt be viewing it (parental controls much) & 2. The parents are adults who again would have to join to see & quite clearly have sex themselves if they have a kid. Even if kids did see it, would be an opportunity to educate them on behaviour towards women in particular.
The work issues baffles me to the logic behind it cos there is none other than misconception of a swinger.
I will not be questioned or abused over my sex life choices that do not involve them and absolutely not just cos i'm a woman & made out to be a whore....if i'm a whore i'm dumb as cos i dont get paid. |

I never used to worry, I worked far enough away from home and if anyone did recognise me then they were doing the same thing and unlikely to say anything outside of here. I've not long started a new job tho that's fairly close to where I live and where there is a lot of foot traffic and potential to be recognises so all my face pictures have come down. Hubby took his down when he became a school governor. Bit more select who we show them to now. |

It is what it it is. if someone recognises me, well, I’m not married, not partnered and don’t have much to lose.
For a single guy on fab, I think it makes things easier if you show your face (although in my specific case, it tends to make things harder but then I don’t have to wait for the inevitable radio silence after sending a face pic, so time saved and all that. |
