Podcasting it up over the weekend I heard to unrelated shows talking about swingers back to back...
1) Apparently a pineapple sticker on your cruise ship room door means you're a swinger..? anyone else ever heard this ever? (No such thing as a Fish)
2) It was the swinger community that first used "Vanilla" to mean "Conventional" or "Default", which then bled into it being seen by some muppets as "Plain" in general daily usage, flavour etc. (Judge John Hodgman) |

Although I'm sharing a cabin with my mum so might just be on the lookout rather than advertising lol |

"We use the term vanilla in business to describe the base product "
Yeah aboslutely. But given vanilla ice cream isn't actually plain flavour, it doesn't really make sense. Vanilla is an amazing flavour, and is also not the base for chocolate ice cream etc...
ALL vanilla flowers are pollenated by hand, with huge amounts of labour. Madagascan vanilla farmers have ben the target of organised crime increasingly recently... All that makes it odder the more you think about it. |
