What do you do?!

Today I had a simple plan...What should have been a handful of jobs taking a couple of hours... I’m now stripping in the bath with a glass of wine after failing to be able to fit my ceiling anchors!!!

So when life however big or small doesn’t go your way ...,what do you do????

"STROPPING bloody autocorrect "

I prefer stripping

I've learned over the years to not let it bother me. It happens, Just forget what's happened, it's in the past, carry on and get it done the next day

Generally... Said item goes across the room, followed by a barrage of profanity in assorted languages and tones of voice and accompanied by a toddler strop of biblical proportions and ending in a bad mood sulking cos folding socks didn't go how I wanted.

Keep refilling the bath with hot water. And wait until yyou stop pondering the crapness factor.

And the bottle is a bit further down.

Result.

Then get a massage.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

Keep pushing until I fuck it up royally, usually with a huge mess everywhere, then have a meltdown and end up in a puddle of tears and snot (because I'm one of those proper sexy crying people) under my duvet.

Or give up and have a bath. Depends how well life was going previously.

I follow the monty python "always look on the bright side of life" song outlook.

I always remind myself that lots of people are worse off than me and a lot of people won't live to see tomorrow

I got to the point of just fuck it and go for it anyway....but the idea of it all falling down curved that.... but the if I just keep going it’ll work is normally me.....is this a sign I’m growing up?!?

East London

If it's something I really couldn't do alone I get someone to help me.

I do one thing at a time, so I can focus on that one thing.

I write a list, with the jobs in order of urgency or how long they will take.

If I didn't do that nothing would get done.

Over the years, when doing jobs I've learnt never try to take shortcuts, always plan first and do things the correct way, as my 'shortcuts' usually end up taking a lot longer and result in a lot more stress.

When things don't go to plan its best to just walk away, sleep on it and call it a problem for another day

Depends...I have found I do end up getting annoyed at myself and angry which I know isn't productive or helpful! Generally I'm quite a positive person though so once I go for a walk or clear my head I'll try and think of the positive side.

Today has been one of those days and it's so hard not to just get angry and annoyed

I am lucky that I really don't get angry about stuff. If things don't go my way, I take a step back, reassess and start again with a new plan.

If it's DIY then I almost always fuck it up and get stressed and cry about it.

I just can't do it!

I still haven't accepted that fact and soldier on

In general, take a short breather/step back then use humour to get over it as such.

There and to the left a bit

I tend to be the "fuck it" type as in I utter those words, spend five minutes angry about it then either carry on till I get it done or accept the battle is lost but not the war and figure out another way to sort it

I generally don’t stress. If I’ve fucked something up I can’t go back & change it so no point in stressing.

Tomorrow is another day and I’ll figure it out then.

I’ve been taking tiles off the bathroom walls today, 2 layers of the fuckers.. took most of the plaster with it as well!
