" Ireland to beat England

France to beat wales"

Scotland win ????

Scott Steele for Ali Price and Hogg moves from 15 to 10 in place of Russel .... hmmmm

Not convinced with Maitland at 15 ... he’s not that great under the high ball ... so I expect Italy to keep testing that all day and picking up the fall out "

Comfortable win for Scotland - and yet another loss for Italy

Given that Georgia’s record in the Rugby Championship is WWWWWWWWWWWWW (or similar) in the last few years and Italy’s in 6N is LLLLLLLLLLLLLLL:

Should there be a play-off between Italy & Georgia? (Even if it’s a win for Italy, demonstrating what size gulf there is between 6N & RC.)

No... go to 7... admit Georgia... that way everyone gets 3 home and 3 away games each year

That would be dependant on whether the extra 6 nations games would bring extra tv money.... it would certainly mean the nations would get an extra home game every 2 years which would bring in more revenue.... it would also possibly allow more Southern Hemisphere sides to visit during the autumn international window

Changes are coming for the six nations, and not just which broadcaster will have the rights from next year .

I wonder if World Rugby could enforce promotion / relegation

(For example, by requiring teams who want to take part in the World Cup to take part in regional leagues that have a promotion / relegation element.)

Right... the answer is no... because if you did this in the north then you would have to do it in the Southern Hemisphere and there is no way SANAZAR is splitting super rugby and championship money.. also you cut off a lot of the pacific island pipeline from New Zealand and Australia by propping up the likes of Fiji, Tonga and Samoa

I take your point - but *not* to do so leaves us with (effectively) a non-competitive 5 Nations plus a practice game.

....and why not make the Southern Hemisphere more competitive too, rather than NZ / Aus taking Pacific Island players?

Feel sorry for Aki there, looked fuck all in real time

But the law is what it is and it enforced to the absolute letter by most refs nowadays due to the increasing concern regarding long term brain injuries which are coming to the fore recently

Mental penalty count against England today so far

Eddie Jones shouldn’t have picked Saracens players for this 6 Nations: they’ve all been way off the pace.

As it stands, England are 5th of the Six: prob the worst performance in over 40 years.

Frustrating time for English fans

I have said since the start of the 6N that this insistence on playing Sarries players who no longer play any competitive rugby would cost them

I don't get Eddie's approach at the moment

"We have to wait and see now what happens for the Championship

Fingers crossed the Scots can deny them a Bonus Point

Even with a bonus point win the French points difference would need to be substantial ...

We're +20 atm

So they need a bp win and the make the points difference up

I will spend the week in prayer

"Ah man

Never mind

You need to hope that Scotland give the French a hard time on Friday evening and either beat them or keep them to a 4 point win...

Ai

I have every faith in the Scots to beat them

If not, then to not allow them the tbp will do

Poor discipline especially by Sanjay there cost us

But never mind "

I had money on Scotland beating France.... but that was when France were in the middle of a Covid outbreak and were going to be down 11 men!

Will they do it Friday...... not a chance! France could have the bonus points for tries by half time!

France don't even deserve to play Scotland due to breaking covid rules.

That being said, Scotland have show some of the best results I have seen in a long time and they matched to beat France last year before covid. With all of Scotland's players aloud to play I think they stand a fair chance.

KIDLINGTON

Been a great competition so far.. surprised at the number of red cards in total, but great that they are taking player welfare seriously.

Wales so close but just lost concentration in the last 15 mins. But what a turn around since autumn.

Think there needs to be some changes in Northern hemisphere to get more cou trues involved. Can only be good for the game.

It is going to be a hard game to call, France will come out strong, but if Scotland can keep them contained they could spoil it for them, a low score win for France isn't going to be enough to give them the trophy

France need 4 tries plus a points difference of 21.

What I really want though is Scotland to go out and play with the same intensity and energy they had in the first game against England.

Yes...

Personally I would like to see a great game of rugby. Both the French and Welsh have played some fantastic rugby through the tournament and would be deserved winners. I would have rather England has played every game as well as their French match, but they didn't.
