I'm actually going to say this as someone who was bullied nigh on tortured for 50% of their life for being skinny because of a medical condition (thankfully didn't need the operations in the end phew) then objecting to the term skinny is acceptable to me ... just the same as using any derogatory term for anyone's size is and their objection to it.
Slim and skinny are different and in all the years I've been on here I think I've possibly seen two actually skinny women and my heart goes out to them for having the courage to show their bodies on here and the abuse that is apparent towards a skinnier frame both male and female! I absolutely hate any form of term that makes anyone uncomfortable and have had training how to address body sizes as part of my job ... the same as anyone in a medical setting has

As you can see I'm a larger lady and have had my share of people being nasty about it, I have been made to feel ashamed. Thankfully when I met Adrian helped me accept who I am, everyone had their own preferences and that's fine. I think it's how you get along with someone that is the biggest attraction. |

I’ve never understood the categorising of body shape as if it’s only one or the other, someone could classify as curvy but be size 20, someone else could say the same and be a 12... all seems strange to me! Think you have to have a very specific type to say you ONLY like one body shape and type |

I'm initially attracted to slim / curvy women and chunky men.
So like a Kate Winslet type body or a James Martin type body.
But obviously everything changes as soon as they speak 
The last man I met was only just taller than me and slim.
The last woman I met was tiny and petite - I think what I'm trying to say is that I like all body shapes |

And what does curvy mean?
You can be slim, fit and very curvy.
Fab curvy seems to be an adopted description for larger ladies, which is unfair on smaller sized ladies who like to be described as curvy or shapely.

Skinny is kind of a negative adjective, implying under weight.
Curvy is kind of positive...an hour glass figure.
If by skinny you mean slim, healthy, low body fat, perhaps even athletic... One can be both slim and also curvy.

If a larger lady has an hourglass figure and he waist is smaller than her bust and hip measurement then she is curvy, so it can’t possibly unfair to accurately describe yourself as curvy regardless of your size.
I am a dress size 20, which makes me fat, but my body shape is curvy.
If you have a “boyish” body shape, or your waist measurement is the same as your bust or hip measurement then your shape isn’t curvy.

Skinny isn't a nice word , just like fatty.
I prefer athletic/ slim to average body type for me in a partner. Have lots of friends in all sizes and shapes.
I'm average in my eyes, other can think large, others might say slim.

I prefer a slim / athletic woman but curves can be sexy too. There’s a way a woman carries herself which cuts through all that appearance stuff, and strikes me right in the sex drives. Appearance matters less to me as I grow older. |

Not sure I agree, the amount of BBW threads, that say women who are slimmer are like a bag of bones, I mean someone above referred to slimmer women as bikes. I like meat on my bones etc etc. I'm all for preferences, but I don't agree with saying shitty things about another body type to express it, regardless of shape or size.

I just look at the pictures and chat to people and either attraction, friendship or both can emerge. A bad attitude is far more unattractive to me than a certain body shape. I've gone off some right fit looking people based on their attitudes on the forum on in PMs. |

As an interested observer I agree with that...its also noticeable that they are pretty much all about slim, skinny, fat, curvy, bbw, sbbw women... Hardly ever see any equivalent regarding men's shapes... (not that I'm suggesting there should be)... Its weird how people are abusive to others regarding their weight and shape. "I find it quite interesting that so many are upset at the term skinny as it has negative connotations and the majority agree.
On threads about larger bodies most people defend the word fat saying its ok because they are fat.
For me fat is a technical definition, for example my food contains x amount of fat or I carry excess fat on my bum. However, this isn't true of slim or skinny. In reality they are either underweight or healthy weight by definition. But if I was to use healthy weight that's also problematic. Therefore, most who are by NHS definition prefer slim therefore it's my preferred terminology.
Then if we are going by that logic somebody cannot be fat because nobody is fat they carry fat.
Well obese what I am medically as I carry excess fat. I personally don't mind the term fat, but I wouldn't call someone I didn't know fat, and would use over weight or obese.
See i wouldn't call anyone i didn't know obese.
Its absolutely none of my business, I also wouldn't call anyone skinny.
I just find the response to the thread very interesting and what terms people find ok to use but seem to have more of an issue with larger people.
Not sure I agree, the amount of BBW threads, that say women who are slimmer are like a bag of bones, I mean someone above referred to slimmer women as bikes. I like meat on my bones etc etc. I'm all for preferences, but I don't agree with saying shitty things about another body type to express it, regardless of shape or size.
It does seem on fab that to be slim is a lot less desirable of a choice "
I don't think it is, except in the forums! Hot pics are mainly slimmer/fitter ladies on the first couple of pages ... I have nothing but compliments on how I look and over the years have never had a problem meeting people or finding what I want! It's only here, in the forums,l that derogatory terms are used and arguements started if anyone mentions a preference for slim/athletic ladies to be fair. And this actually says says more about the people that use them ... |

I think everyone takes things to serious now it’s all about having fun, if you don’t like it and you find it offends , block delete do what ever and move on, everyone is different one person’s right is another’s wrong and you should be able to say what you want and I know some people are nasty but unfortunately you are going to offend some people even if your trying to be nice everyone is different, just by saying sorry your not for us seems to offend a lot of people and that’s being nice, where some might say your too skinny too fat or ugly etc so you can’t win really Hopefully the fun can start again soon and everyone will be chilled out again and to those who have waited and been good not long now LOVE YOU ALL XX (single men we will find you lol) |

I know I’m wasting my energy explaining this, but the dictionary definition of the word ‘skinny’ means ‘unattractively thin’, so you can see why slim people don’t like it, including me. |

As in having a BIG heart and a beautiful soul,
Whether that BIG heart and beautiful soul is carried within a curvy or slim woman's body isn't important.
That and someone who makes me laugh and smile when I see them and I'm happy.

I don’t mind either thin or curves or muscles (though big muscle women are rare ) .
All is good with me if the person is easy to get along with . Though I prob find I usually meet people similar build to me in general as an average .

I HATE the word curvy!! It's totally non descript and depending on who's using it it can mean anything from petite size 8 or a more voluptuous size 18.
I used to describe my physique as curvy as I'm not straight up and down. But the longer I've been on fab, it seems thats maybe not the correct use of the word.
So, in answer to the original question.... I like all ladies, because women rock! Sexually, I am attracted to size smaller framed women, with beautiful soles.
And for the love of God, will people stop using the term 'real woman'!! If you are a woman, (or identify as such) then you are a real woman!!
