The way to do it is to print out two copies. Give one to a friend to read out loud and you follow on your copy. Then swap over and do the same. That way you should pick up any accidental errors and spelling mistakes. I know it's not always practical but it's the best way. Second best if you're on your own is to print out a copy and read it out loud. That way you find you do read every word. If you do silent reading you can easily miss something. This advice comes from 40years of producing advertising and promotional materials. DON'T TRY TO PROOF READ ON A SCREEN. You'll definately miss something. |

Often when sending out reports, assessments, etc, I’m in a rush. Best way is to go away from the work for 1-2 minutes. Let my eyes look out the window. Then read it out loud and read is slowly! |
