Hope so, I can definitely see the work/life benefits of a 4 day week and I genuinely think time productively spent in the office equates to that amount anyway with coffee breaks, socialising etc. |

"I don't think it would work in every job. I can't see schools doing a 4 day week."
Yeah that's true but I think it could work in every industry, even the constantly busy ones like retail and could provide more jobs to fulfil demands. It's all depends on whether the companies would want to spend the money to do that. |

Many schools in Europe do 4 days or just mornings with sport or other activities in the afternoon. Most parts of France only do a half day one day a week. |

I used to work a 4 day week. I had Wednesday off and I was so much happier, more focused and just generally enjoyed my job more because I had that break. |

"Did read somewhere that 4x10hrs days with Friday off on a production line had an increase of 20% at the end of the week, maybe not a lot doesn’t get done Fridays..? "
I read the same. People were more upbeat and morale was higher. I think the idea of more time for measure days would make most happier. |

"A 4 day week seems like an excellent idea, will the farm look after itself the other three days? "
Wouldn't be any different to Sunday being a day off for most when I was a kid. Made no difference when on a farm.
But I do think when the 5 day a week model was implemented and became the norm. The vast majority of households only had the male working. This isn't the case anymore, so there is more pressure especially on women (where studies have shown that they so most of the housework and childcare). So I think this could potentially be a better way of living.
I choose not to work 4 days a week, I did when the boys were younger. But I was expected to deliver the same output and it was too much. |

Working longer over 4 days removes the extra 5th set up time, clean down and break times on the Friday.

"Wonder if pay would be pro rata? I’m sure not many employers would be happy getting four days work for five days pay?"
According to the article, the experiment is for a 32 hour week without reduction in pay, but they are still waiting to see how many companies sign up to it. |

Denmark, Germany and Norway have been doing it for quite a while and have found that they're workers are more productive as on average, in a 40 hour week, most workers only spend up to about 27 hours actually doing any work. So they just remove a day which gives workers more time to relax and have good mental health and then when they're at working, they're actually working |
