Yes, juvenile ones, anything that boasts something, gross terminology or the ones that contain "lad" do push the no way button.
That they maybe terrific people but in our eyes misguided in what a first impression they set, doesn't cut it with us sadly, we prefer a little imagine or at least restraint in being crude over funny or refined. |

"If I found it offensive or really disturbing maybe. I think it's sometimes worth talking about before though as sometimes people can be shockingly oblivious to what things mean."
Yeah, it can reveal attitudes best avoided. |

"Some do give an insight into a personality that may not be compatible with my likes. Have avoided messaging a couple because of their name. "
I used to see a lot of 50 Shades names. There was only one I didn't side eye, because it was obviously tongue in cheek and clever. |

I can imagine it’s down to the person as I find some words really offensive and others I ‘should’ find offensive, not so much. I don’t like ‘slut’ so if someone had the username with that word in it, I’d ignore them.
But I find the word ‘sissy’ something of a turn on, so sissyhunter would get a better chance than TVsluthunter with me.

Will add to this some people are old enough to know better in our opinion, first impressions count for a lot in our world, as does it for most, so thankfully we get an insight into the character before opening a message. |

Yes, I’m Glucose intolerant so I can’t speak to anyone who has bread in their name, also I’m a strict vegan so anyone with meat in their name is a no go, I thought I was on safe ground once, but it turned out his real name was Graham so I had to block and delete. It was very much a wake up call for me. |

Names like "niceguy" really put me off. In my experience they're the ones who won't take no for an answer and keep begging until they have to be blocked. |

yes a username can put me off, I use them like a red flag as others seem to,
if the username portrays something that could become an issue like some of suggestions above.

at least in the short term, since no eclipse lasts that long |

Amongst other things, yes
I can find a million and one things that put me off someone
Worse still, they aren't fixed
What would be a 'pass' on day might be a 'fail' the next
My current turn off is unkempt pubes and hairy ballbags
Tomorrow, it might be 'go faster stripes' on the inner arse cheeks |

The guy who named himself after Ted Bundy really put me off!
Anyone messaging me called any variation on MilfHunter or ChubbyChaser or anything similar is definitely getting deleted and probably getting blocked because I hate being called those things and if that’s how they see me then I don’t want anything to do with them.
Then there’s all the gross and juvenile ones like PussyDestroyer etc which just suggest he’s immature and possibly just going to do bad porn sex.
And I don’t want to know anyone with Dom or Alpha or Master or Sir in their name, because usually they’re all talk and no experience, or they might have experience but they won’t respect me. |

"Would anyone refuse to chat or meet because of there username "
Yes, unpleasant usernames instantly suggest, to me at least, there is a higher likelihood of there being unpleasantness in the person |

He looked at my profile once when I was quite new here, I blocked him instantly because I couldn’t imagine any way I’d ever want to interact with him! |

It depends on what it is.
I might be worried about meeting someone called "CockChopper666"
Anything that makes me think that someone might not be the type of person I'd like to meet might make me think twice. I know we shouldn't judge a book by the cover, but someone's own choice of name does give some insight to their personality. |
