Has just resigned following the failure of his 6 point plan and the intransigence of certain members of the UN security council. What with China, Rusia Turkey and Iran all having an interest, will WWIII start in the 'balkanised' Middle East? |

The Eastern Superpowers (and their whipping boys) know better than to start a global conflict that will benefit nobody, but they know the Western Superpowers (and their puppets) are also aware of this, so the position remains for the Eastern Bloc to trade in the West and block trade from the West to the East and they'll slowly eat away at our economies until we have no option but to turn to the East and ask them to relax. Which they will, if certain conditions are met.
And so begins the decline of the West and the re-emergence of the East - the the detriment of whoever happens to be in the opposite point on the compass. |

Sadly, I don't think it will make the UN Security Council make any decisions on Syria and watch, wait and see will become more of the norm.
And, on a completely frivilous level... could Ban Ki-moon get Morgan Freeman in and see if anyone notices? |

slightly tangentially, whilst my feeling is that the great but misguided experiment of communism is moribund, my visit over the weekend to family in deepest darkest south Wales scared the crap out of me with all the class war and command economy rhetoric of a lot of labour party people related to me were spouting.

Boutros Boutros Ghali, Kofi Annan, Ban Ki Moon. The last three Secretary Generals of the United Nations.
Or Jedi Knights sent to 'keep an eye on things'? |
