How many times have you typed out a thread and find yourself deleting because you can kind of guess what’s going to happen to it?
You were going to ask a sensible question and you know it will burn in flames or get railroaded by ridiculousness.
What subjects did you decide to send in the draft bin? ( If any) |

Yeah I do this all the time. Don’t know if it’s anxiety or a crippling sense of self-awareness.
Most PMs and forum replies I start don’t even get sent, simply because of a “what value am I adding?” mindset.
Fully aware that most people just spam their keyboards and smash send. I do enjoy reading the word salad most of the time, just don’t have the capacity to reply haha.
For what it’s worth, this is the second draft of this response; trying to stay active and remotely relevant... |

At least once a day, I think what’s the point they’re too ignorant to understand a different viewpoint.
There’s some on here who you enjoy reading their responses to complex issues and actually learn something new. And others who just want to cause division and totally derail the conversation.
That’s why in general I spend more time on the amusing threads than the discussion ones. |

Most sensible questions get railroaded by ridiculousness. Which is something I don't like and have written many responsive to the railroaded only to delete them. |

"Never have! post threads I wanna post, if it gets derailed or shot down fuck it its only fab forum "
Today’s threads are tomorrow’s..... yesterday threads??...I’ve got nothing.
But I admire that. Say what you need to say. |

I wouldn't not post because of the responses it might get. How people respond to a thread ( any post ) can reveal loads about them. Like :-
Their sense of humour.
Their motivations.
Their intelligence.
Their individuality.
Their understanding and fairness.
Their need for approval.
Who they feel threatened by.
Who they want to impress.
Who they're in a clique with.
Who they're at war with.
How shallow they think.
How deeply they feel.
Do they like to troll.
Do they like to positively or negatively contribute.
....and loads of other traits.
So OP, I hope you start posting whatever you wish. More often than not it's the threads that get ridiculed or hijacked that teach us the most about others. |

Sometimes I consider starting a thread but then think better of it - I don't want people to feel I'm discussing them negatively (although thinking about them might have prompted that particular topic). Other times I don't have the energy to see a thread out - occasionally I have a more navel gazing sort of thread in mind but I think better of it. |

I start threads for that fleeting hit of dopamine, but that soon subsides, especially when people totally miss understand the thread or they don’t answer the question, or someone takes it to a place I’m not interested in and other people are like haha, brilliant I’m totally with you and I’m like okay I’m done with this thread, but at the same time you feel some responsibility, but then you’re distracted cause it’s all going off on another thread and I’m like quick get the others. |

It seems to be Fab etiquette for an OP to keep responding throughout a thread. Maybe more people would start interesting threads if this expectation wasn't always there ? |

I don't know if it's Fab etiquette nor if the expectation is always there... I interact with posters on the occasional threads I start because I like them/I find their comment amusing. It would be nice if more people started interesting threads but I'll give it a few months until restrictions are easing. |
