So as a tall woman, it doesn't occur to me the little (excuse the pun) inconveniences being short can have.
This was prompted by Tindergirls status about the smoke detector.
So, tell us what things your height hinders, tall or short |

Honestly I've never realised how inconvenient it must be not being able to reach the top shelves of things!
Or how apparently intimidating I am with muscled long legs in heels |

For me, being tall is inconvenient in dating, espescially if I wish to wear heels. Men need to be over 6ft for me to not dwarf them
Also, tights, I can have wide or tall, both is not an option....well until I found snag tights
Flying. No...bloody...legroom!!! |

"Im 5ft 1 but my inside leg is only 25in. Getting in high cars, buying trousers, not reaching top shelves. I could go on but despite that i love being short"
The cars thing never occured to me as I have the opposite problem, small cars low to the floor are a nightmare |

My actual height is fine, unless Mr mega tall KC has put things at the back of the very top shelf
But I go around most places in the seated position - I'm at crotch height for most people. Pre-pandemic, a trip in the lift at work involved me trying not to have my face in someone's arse or their groin |

Not being able to sit back fully in the average height chair. When you sit back, your feet don't touch the floor with the flat of your feet, it makes your thighs stretch when your legs dangle and gets uncomfortable. |

So many things! I’d love to be shorter. Being taller than a man in heels, leg room. having to choose between warm boobs or warm knees in the bath. Not being able to buy lovely regular tops as they hardly reach my waist and look daft. Struggling to get on the fun fair rides with the kids. |

Similar having size 3 feet and chunky calves. They make the whole of knee high boots in what they presume to be a petite slim person to go with the small feet. Can't get them up the calves. Luckily a lot of manufacturers have cottoned on and make wider calve fittings now. |

Wooo!
Im size 12
My legs and stuff i think are fine and not overly chunky as my job entailed being on my feet for 12+ hours day
But finding decent shoes that are not just ridiculous bedroom shoes is so difficult
Plus i kept hitting my head on the top of the Cocktail Bar at Pink Punters
If I was like 6 inches shorter with small feet and not as broad shoulders I would be so happy! |

Your feet 8/10 never touch the floor when sat in a chair or reach a footrest in a high stool, and there’s an art in getting on the latter so you don’t look like you are climbing a mountain.
Top shelves of your kitchen are never used.
Holdups / stockings never fit as too long, goes for most items of clothing even the so called petite range.
On the plus you learn to be an expert climber and I can zip my way through a crowd |

The usual, having to ask tall shoppers to reach the top shelves for me (though a great way to meet men!)
But needing a steppy-stool for my own kitchen cupboards is a bummer!
But on the plus side, I have small feet - size 4 - so sale shopping is great. And it's easier finding men that are taller than me - even in the rare occasion I wear heels x |

Going to gigs as a short person is almost pointless. I'd see more watching the concert on tv.
Clothes are too long, especially work clothes. There are a few places that make women's outdoors work clothes, but they are all for women 5 inches taller than I am.
If i want to buy milk in Aldi I have to loiter near the shelves waiting for a tall person to come and reach it for me.
However, being small can feel great, especially when being little spoon. |

Ok I'm 5ft and I have short arms. ( Not in a deformed kind of way they are in proportion to my body)
To get anything off the top shelf at home i use bbq tongs, I've nearly fallen in a couple of freezers having to lean to reach things at the bottom, I cant change a light bulb even stood on a chair and I often have find a tall person to assist me in supermarkets. The struggle is real! |

Just basic things like not being able to reach shelves in supermarkets. Or now for instance, I have fake ivy reeds around my curtain pole in the sitting room and one side has fallen down, I can’t be arsed to get a chair from the kitchen to stand on so it’s just dangling down doing my head in! |

My height does hinder my choice of bikes due to some manufacturers seat heights and it doesn't bother me if a female is shorter or taller than me. I have found that my height has been an advantage in past and present careers (former Paratrooper, now a plumber) so I'm happy with my height |

Every time I bend to get something at a level below my knees, I have a real danger of putting my back out.
Nice shoes at a reasonable price for large feet? Impossible.
Long trousers for a plus sized tall lass? Nightmare!
Otherwise it’s all groovy.

Shopping is a nightmare, top shelf? Forget it
I have to climb onto the kitchen worktop to reach the top shelves.
I don't have high ceilings yet still need a ladder rather than being able to stand on a chair to change a light bulb.
Can't reach the glass shelves at work so if I'm on the bar I end up getting shouted at by customers coz they're waiting too long (coz I'm waiting for someone to reach me a glass down having just got a bollocking from a manager) or a manager coz I'm not prepared to keep the customer waiting and I climb up on the bar. I fucking hate being on the bar. |

I fucking hate being on the bar."
At almost a foot between us flat footed, and moreso if I wear heels, we have to be one of the biggest female height differences you get without going into Dwarfs and Giants |

"Shopping is a nightmare, top shelf? Forget it
I have to climb onto the kitchen worktop to reach the top shelves.
I don't have high ceilings yet still need a ladder rather than being able to stand on a chair to change a light bulb.

"I'm an awkward set up, short with a short body and longer legs for my height.
I only put stuff in my top cupboards I don't need often, changing lightbulbs and smoke detector batteries is a mission need a large step ladder a step stool is no good.
I need a tall person to help me out lol
Get one of those Bamboo canes and just keep pressing the button to make it stop
The back up battery has died that's why it's beeping, if I could reach it I'd pull it out but I can't "
Throw heavy objects at it until it stops
I would come help, but its raining and its bit of a walk to Northampton down the A428 xD

"So as a tall woman, it doesn't occur to me the little (excuse the pun) inconveniences being short can have.
This was prompted by Tindergirls status about the smoke detector.
So, tell us what things your height hinders, tall or short
My height does hinder my choice of bikes due to some manufacturers seat heights and it doesn't bother me if a female is shorter or taller than me. I have found that my height has been an advantage in past and present careers (former Paratrooper, now a plumber) so I'm happy with my height
Do you not get the crippling back pain aswell then?"
Back and knees are shot to shit |

I have a 28 inch waist and a 32 inch inside leg. Try buying trousers that fit properly. |
