"What is PREP? "
PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is medicine people at risk for HIV take to prevent getting HIV from sex or injection drug use. When taken as prescribed, PrEP is highly effective for preventing HIV. |

I am dubious of those that advertise about being on PreP
To me, too many use it as an excuse to justify bareback, taking the approach that as long as they can't die from them, they'll take the risk on other STD's
So, someone may well be on PreP and whilst it wouldn't stop me meeting them, it still doesn't mean that bareback is on the menu |

I take prep on demand, so when I know I’ll be getting sex, I take the 2 pills hours before, then 1 pill day after and 1 after that. As I don’t have reasons to be on it full time.
It’s a great piece of mind for the times that maybe u want to go bare with someone you see regularly but might be fucking one one else too. So at least I know I’ve got the protection against HIV.
I still do mostly safe but sometimes I don’t, and I want to be sure myself that I’ve taken the right steps. |

If you, or anyone, experiences side effects with PrEP or any other medicine, particularly if they aren't ones listed in the information sheet, then you should use the MHRA Yellow Card scheme to report them.

"I felt very queezy for the first couple of weeks. "
I take tenofovir too btw.
I was taking it continuously though as I’m spontaneous and could end up having sex when I hadn’t planned and taken the pills before it.
I always play safe. |
