I’ve woken up in a bit of a melancholic mood today and suddenly found myself missing a lot of the big and small things that I haven’t been able to do in this past year.
I think that in some ways it’s become something that I haven’t thought about, as a way of stopping myself from feeling this?
So dear fabbers, what do you miss, beyond the simple ‘meeting for sex’? |

"Extra-marital sex with ladies off t’internet "
I didn’t read the opening post properly did I?
In that case, I’m changing my answer ...
being within touching distance of another human being. |

Ravin... Nothing beats being on that dance floor, 1000s of others around you, feeling the base running through your body.. Oh yes.. Get me on that dance floor. |

"Yes people ! I miss people , friends, family , get together , socialising , hugging .... I also miss glorious sex and dare I say it ... work
In that order "
I'm sure after a week of being back at work I'll change my mind - but I miss going to work too
I need to be busy and around other people.
This endless Groundhog Day on my own is really starting to get to me now |

Having lunch on the seafront, watching the world go by with a glass of wine.
Coffee and cake at my little local coffee shop, where they know my name and my coffee order.
Playing silly made up games with my little nieces and nephews. |

I miss the joys of commuting, of working in a busy office, the pressurised but fun environment.
I miss spontaneity - being able to go for halloumi fries or a coffee with a friend just because we wanted to.
I miss the thrill of various things - meeting someone new, the hug from a loved one, having that perfect meal, browsing and feeling the weight of various books. |

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon |
I miss being free to do what I want. To go where I want, when I want. And to stay home because I want to, not because I have to or because I'm scared going out could kill my loved ones |

Socialising. I want to have people round for BBQ's, get pissed and sit on the decking at 3am discussing the meaning of life.
Other than that my life's not been massively affected, I've been lucky that work's continued and, with work, I've still been allowed to be out and about.
I dread to think the state I'd be in if I was stuck indoors all the time though. I've a lot of respect for anyone who's done that and made it through this mess! |

With you on this definitely. My little one was just thriving at swimming and was really good for her age. Now no lessons in over a year and no just fun swims either. |

Being with people without asking for money. The closest I get is talking to a customer And it’s mostly about work.
I just miss seeing people enjoy life, I miss, missing opportunities for a whole year. I miss planning trips, shopping eating out, sports So much. |

I don't miss anything. Lockdown can carry on forever. I like that people are trapped and miserable.
Some people are trapped all the time but no-one ever gave a shit until they were affected themselves. |

I said that at the beginning when people were complaining on Facebook. Now they know how disabled and old people who can't get out feel.

My eldest was the same, was really good at it and the youngest should've started his lessons both love being in the water. |

It does - people rarely care unless it directly affects them or someone they love.
It's definitely an eye opener.
I quite liked it in the beginning - especially as I'm not really a people person
But the solitude is getting to me now.

Seeing and spending time with family and friends, it’s been 7 months and a year, respectively since we have.
There are still a few months to go until it can happen, however it’s now nearer to that point than the time already spent apart and the time will fly by. |

Travelling, we went from being out of the country most of the time to being here all of the time.
Although that’s just what we miss, as opposed to anything critical. We’re both safe and healthy and life is good.
It’s just a lifestyle hit that makes us a little bored, as opposed to some of the real shit people are going through. |

"Being able to do things without having to stop and think about them and whether they are "allowed" first "
This.
I cut my own hair, don't care much for the pub, travelled mainly to visit clubs so lockdown hasn’t affected what I do that much outside of now having to think about what I am going to do and if I will get fined. |

Little touches. Not even kisses or hugs or sex. But talking to a friend and giving her a rub on the shoulder when she is down.. high fives with friends kids when they share something they are proud of.
Stuff like that. |

I miss felling sexy and having my own identity right now I’m just mum and cook, clean and drive people where they need to be. I used to really enjoy getting dressed up, make up on and just being myself when the school run was done. I don’t see the point of it all now and could cry most days. I was in really poorly in hospital with Covid so I understand the severity but this loneliness and depressed feeling is worse than that was. |

And live music..gigs. Having access online to live streams is quite different to being amongst it and in the thick of everyone feeling the vibes together.
It's electric when it's good and I can't wait for it all to come back. |

Most of all I miss people. I miss being able to sit & chat & drink coffee (or wine) with my friends. I miss spontaneity, being able to hop in the car & drive to the beach for a walk, or to go out to a restaurant for lunch, or meet up with friends. I miss being able to just do things without having to think so much.
