For me the greatest sitcom of all time Only Fool’s And Horses.A few other personal favourites Steptoe and Son , Porridge , Open All Hours , Just Good Friends , In Sickness and in health , Till death us do part. |

Nightingales - it's on Youtube, is seriously surreal and utterly brilliant in a bonkers way.
The Phil Silver's Show - very fast paced and well written, again on Youtube.
Early Doors - pub life in Manchester. Nothing ever really happens, but life is perfect whilst it is on (see also Detectorists).
Early episodes of Last of the Summer Wine - gentle humour, but there is a lot of joy in the writing. |
