Baking is therapy right now, so I'm baking a couple of cakes.
A 3 layer carrot cake for me, and a lemon drizzle cake as a birthday cake for a friend in isolation.
What do you fancy? The apron is on, the oven is hot, and I'm armed, with a whisk and spatula...

I like a nice cherry cheese cake, with some liqueur to spice up the cherries a bit. Perfect with a black forest hot chocolate! |

I can't wait for them to cook, they smell lovely.
Do a nice rich ganache for the top too. Fresh cream and dark chocolate flakes over the top too  |

Sticky toffee apple cake with a sort of crumbleesque topping made with oats and cinnamon.
Or a really rich and moist devil's food cake but little to no icing because it can become sickly sweet.

you can't beat proper ice cream, and vanilla made with pods, not essence, just heaven. Coffee a comin' right up! |

Ooh yes, love the idea of sticky toffee apple, I love a good crumble, rhubarb is the winner for me, sharp and tart, but tasty!
With you on the no icing on a devil's food cake, feels a bit icky when it's gone down. Much prefer sharp fruit based sweeteries!

Oooh, coffee and walnut, with a decadently soft sponge and coffee cream frosting
I am terrible at cooking, but love baking and following recipes, if only I could live off cake, I'd be happy! Also really love baking for others, if I ever had to find a new career, I'd definitely bake!

I've started using almond milk lately for lattes, they're so lovely, not as sweet and works really well when you've got a rich cake on the side.....I can't wait for these cakes to be done, starving! |
