"How did it go

5.4k in 27 minutes. I had to slow down to walking pace twice for like 10 seconds to catch my breath on the last incline

I'm on week 4 of couch to 5 potatoes.

On the final run today I was virtually ski-ing ..... but I love that I kept going.....

I pushed up to the doctors on Friday for my Covid jab. Half an hour of entirely uphill pushing. My dodgy left shoulder wasn't happy at all! My decision not to wear a coat was vindicated by the fact I was red in the face when I arrived. I got up without stopping though, so that's something because I've done very little over winter

I've only done two runs so far this year. I'm a fairweather runner. Hoping now the better weather and the lighter evenings are coming I will be able to get out more. Actually getting the motivation to leave the house at the moment is the worse part.

Well done OP, that's fantastic. I'm almost sub 35 for 5k which doesn't sound that impressive but when I first started it was a lot higher than that. I'm a bit worried how my first run will be after being poorly but I've got all my inhalers ready to go.

Ah he's actually back now! Tea doing a marathon is part of what inspired me to stick with c25k.

I twisted my ankle and he was supportive, when I'd moan about the awful weather and my hair... so this is a thank you to Tea Monkey for helping me stick with something fitness related.

I broke my first treadmill during Lockdown #1 and all the reasonably priced ones had already sold out.

Finally got a replacement last September. Now running 3 times a week and 2 HIIT spinning session (also got a bike). I look forward to my 2 rest days a week.

Started running again and taking it a lot more seriously this time, so I’m not adding to my Strava till I’m at 5k non stop.

Not properly run for the last two years, so I’m struggling to get to 2k without needing to walk. However I’m doing the same route everyday and getting past each walk point, so I’m seeing improvements.

I have run two marathons (inc London) and quite a half’s and 10ks so struggling to run to 2k is really showing me how far I’ve fallen behind with my fitness.

But upwards and onwards I reckon in three weeks I should easily hit 5k, then move on from that

Yeah!

You'll be astounded to know I'm really obtuse and absolutely refuse help (unless it's the time I fell out into a ditch. I let Mr KC help then). People look at him like he's evil but I choose to push at 0.5cm/hour up a massively steep incline

My fitness levels are increasing, my job has been physically demanding these last few weeks, and I can feel my work getting easier. I'm quite chuffed with myself, eating healthy too so hopefully some weight will come off.

Life is easier all round when you're physically fitter.

Mr is as fit now as the day I met him over 17 years ago. His job is very physically demanding so that keeps him in shape.

I ran my first marathon distance on Monday. Hadn't trained for it, furthest I've done is a half marathon.

10km tomorrow with a 1km stream run, although with the rain recently, not sure if running that part will be an option.

At the beginning of this year I hadn't run for over a year, I've now done 4 half marathon runs and several 8 milers. I think it was a year of cycling that has given me the stamina (sadly not the speed though).

Well done.

I have couple of HM booked eager to see how I make it. I barely get out of my sofa now

Well done, that’s awesome x

My hubby decided to go run a half marathon distance locally, after not running at all for nine months.

He couldn’t move for about a week.

Sometimes I question my life choices

I’m the same - far prefer HIIT classes. I’m what I describe as a reluctant runner as I prefer doing HITT classes at the gym. Having now done violence to a hamstring (hopefully back running next week), I’ve taken to doing HIIT classes streamed from the gym or ones I make up in my head with a timer. It’s a bit safer and gives my leg time to recover. Looking forward to the double in mid-April - haircut and gym!! Yay.

I'm not a runner but my son was doing cross country races locally last year. He's not a runner, always came in last but never quite and always got a round of applause from every one else (I may have shey a tear or 2 in pride).

However he has started running again and we are doing couch to 5k together. Feels good to get out and do something.
