the perfect runny boiled egg .... every time
Jump to: Newest in thread
put egg(s) in a saucepan of water.
Put saucepan on the hob until water starts to boil.
Take pan off the heat and leave to stand for 4 minutes.
and it has took all my life to find this way to make the perfect runny boiled egg. |

Not to piss on your chips, but.
The size of pan, volume of water, output of hob would cause variables for everyone else.
Great that it works on your setup though |

The perfect poached egg every time
Boil water until bubbling...add a touch of olive oil, salt and pepper
Turn off heat and stir water before adding eggs, so they don’t mix
Put toast in and by the time toast is done, eggs will be perfectly poached with runny yolk

Place carefully with a spoon in rapid boiling water so its completely covered for exactly 5 mins and 15 secs and take out with spoon and turn off heat. Will be perfect with soldiers ( medium / large egg) |

Never tried this but read an alternative method used in an overseas coffee shop is as follows:-
“Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a saucepan. Turn off the heat and remove the pan from the stove. Use a slotted spoon to gently lower the eggs into the water and cover with a lid and set a timer for 7 minutes.”
I will give it a go to see if it works.
