I was chatting with my friend Nell. She was talking about a man with a lovely soft beard. She said that he keeps his cutlery in his eyebrows. I said he probably keeps his nunchucks in his eyebrows too. She said that was stoopid. He keeps them in his moustache. And immediately I thought, do men with beards have a moustache. I don't think they do. I reckon the entire facial hair growth is beard, and that men with beards don't have a moustache. What do you think? |

I am a man. With a beard. And a moustache. Both trimmed but occasionally I do like to jest and grow the moustache so I can sit and twirl it like a movie villain.
However, the most weapon-like objects I've ever had in my facial hair are 14 toothpicks which my son thought it would be great to store in there |

One can have a beard and a moustache or a moustache and a beard. One can also have a moustache without a beard or a beard without a moustache. It is difficult to have a moustache without a moustache or a beard without a beard however.

I'm sorry Nell, he types the truth. A moustache becomes part of the beard and is one beard. Not separate. "
I'm on Nell's side and would like to ask this question;
If a man with a beard announced he had an itchy beard and then proceeded to scratch his top lip (moustache) would you not think he was weird for that? |

So is the goatee just one area of the beard, or does it only become that when the other areas are shaved, this question also does for the sideburns. Therefore I feel the beard is a complete unit. |

No because he would be scratching the beard, beard, beard above his top lip. Makes perfect sense to me. |

I originally had mahoosive sideburns with just the chin and top lip shaved but decided many years ago to join it all up into a beard (singular item).
Went to have my Covid jab today so this morning I thought I’d better give it a tidy up as I was doing a pretty good Uncle Albert impersonation.
During the process I found 2 half eaten sausage rolls, a spare front door key, 3 first class stamps and an out of date lottery ticket. |

A moustache is a strip of hair left to grow above the upper lip. Personally, my beard line goes to the corners of my mouth. So I'd say anything above your top lip, round to the corners of your mouth is a moustache. |

Curious.
¹ entity. Which just happens to be the name of my new boy band I've put together with F&B, Mystique and Ace."
Sod the weirdy beardy stuff Jim..... More importantly, you simply CAN'T have a BOY band when one of your members is about 103 and looks like The Wizzard on acid |

It’s different for each man (or woman) as the beard may be continues on the said men ( or women) so that is just a beard.
But those beards that are trimmed to have definition for the men (or women) as to distinctly show the moustache on the man (or woman) will have both a beard and moustache.
