I'd wager that is more due to the world rather than the chavs vanishing.

You can't label anything. I've had facebook bans before because somebody said that 'some group' got in and stole all their copper pipes whilst they were on holiday.. and saying 'Bloody gyppos' got me banned! I imagine it's the same with chavs, it isn't PC to call somebody a chav nowadays!

From dipping my toe into the pool of today's youth I think chavs have evolved into "Roadmen".

They'll always be about in one form or another

There's always an out group that people can name and look down upon. The names may change, but the sentiments don't.

According to an online dictionary it means:

a young person who wears fashionable sportswear or flashy jewelry but is regarded as badly behaved or as having lower-class taste.

Personally, I don’t think it only applies to young people. We have plenty of people here in Kent who are a bit flash but have no idea as to how to behave.

There's a FB Page called Chav Lads UK, so I guess it's still a thing with 'the gays'

A bit o'ruff seems to fit the bill

Chav is a word that I'm not keen on when used as an insult.

Usually used in a derogatory/snide way towards some (working class) people.

My definition of chavs was always the scrotey youths in trackie bottoms and burberry caps hanging around causing trouble (basically what the character "Devvo" was a parody of), and yes they are still around, the fashion has changed slightly but the behaviour hasn't.
