Glasses. A new person.

Do your glasses define you?
If you take yours off (if you wear them) do you
Look the same?
I know if I wear sunnies I still look like me, but I know some that wear glasses all the time, when they take them off they are so different. Are you one of them?
I ask because I pick my new glasses up soon.
You know that pose a woman can do, I hope I can pull that off.  |

I wouldn’t say they define me, last time I went to get my eyes checked I opened the door and said ‘I’m here for my Appointment!’ , a woman said ‘you fucking need it, this is the fish and chip shop love!’ |

I went out with a woman for 18 months and she would never let me see her wearing her glasses, not once, she wore contacts most of time. I pleaded with her saying I love women in glasses, so I could see her wear them just once but she never let me see her wearing them. |

I've worn glasses for so long I think I look weird without them. Without them and my beard I've got a really young face so self confidence means they stay on the majority of the time. |

I could not believe how different I looked when I first started wearing glasses. Now people don't recognize me without them as I look younger which they don't believe. Also if I leave them off I can't see |

I wear mine more than I don't, find contacts dry my eyes too much. I have a mixture of pictures of myself with them on or off. They definitely hide the wrinkles around my eyes so I'll go with they make me look better  |

I look so different without mine. I used to hate the way they looked but now I actually love them. Once you get used to it you'll find it odd to see yourself without them. |

I've been wearing them so long that all I see is me in primary school. Except Jesus kid you've aged about 25 years, slow down on the all night novel reading and steeping your tea too long  |

Worn Glasses Since I was a child, in my 20s I was a young fat bald guy with glasses. Now I'm just an old fat bald guy with glasses. So for me nothing has changed but I am comfortable with who I'am.
Try to stay active through outdoor pursuits for which I wear lenses, simply cos glasses are not always practical.
I rather those liked me for who I am have met true friends through the scene - who do just that. |

As a specs wearer I feel naked without them on... I admit I do hide behind them... eyes are the windows to our souls so I like to keep my soul hidden if possible lol |

I look better with my glasses on, just in the same way I look better with facial hair
A lot don't suit my face though
I always spend days looking for replacements when I need to replace them |

Just a discussion point as a side thread, why do we associate intelligence with wearing glasses. Is it something that is ingrained into out psychology? With or without glasses we are the same person.

I definitely look different without my glasses but I'm rarely without them... Usually just take them off for bed or a shower and yes I do leave them on during sex, unless they fall off  |

Mine are quite prominent frames so yes.. definitely change my face a lot. I also wear lenses so you don't get to see me in them that often, as I'm notoriously misplacing the glasses and it's a safer alternative |

When I was younger I hated being the fat kid with glasses so with contact lenses and then laser treatment I was just the fat adult, which I preferred.
It also meant I could see where I was washing in the shower and that dangerous activities like walking in the rain or coming into a kitchen with two saucepans boiling were no longer off limits |

I look really different in mine. With glasses on I'm invisible, like Clark Kent. Without glasses the Super Nell is revealed and possess the power of flight and super strength.
It's actually really weird how people respond to me depending on whether I'm wearing glasses or not. One bloke at uni was talking to me in a bar one night when a friend called me over to her. Just as I was about to go he said "wait! You're Nell? Geeky little Nell?!" The tosser hadn't even recognised me |

I've discovered online prescription glasses and I love it. I have 4 pairs of normal glasses and one pair of sunglasses with another on their way.
All very different, all very bold so I look different in them all. |

I am also getting glasses on Tuesday. One of my partners wears them. Personally I don't think he looks that different without them but that might be because I'm used to seeing him a lot without them on. I do find he particularly hot when he wears them though but they are very nice glasses! |

I thought this would be me when they said I needed them. I always take ages to choose sunglasses that suit my face. I ended up choosing the first pair I tried on . I tried on some others after but the first pair I loved. |

I've just started wearing them again after years without because I had laser surgery, age is taking its toll. You tell me how different I look my second pic is with my new glasses. I'm undecided about whether I like them or not. |

I hated wearing them as a child and it was only when I grew up and realised that squinting to see wasn’t a good look. Now I wear them pretty much all the time.
I tried to get minimalistic frames so I didn’t look that different when wearing them or not.
I also plumped for prescription oakleys so that I can see when going out. My eyes are sensitive to bright light. |
