Or, sporotrichosis as you lot probably know it by

I stumbled across this infection because I have the tip of a rose thorn buried under the skin of one of my fingers and I was looking for tips to remove it. I've been hacking away it with the tip of a needle but the cheeky fella is refusing to leave. I do have a hatchet in the shed but that will be used as a last resort.

I don't want to die! Can someone rock me gently and tell me everything will be OK...

Have you tried popping some magnesium sulphate paste on it and then cover the area with gaffer tape for a day or so. It might help dislodge it.

That would solve the issue but take half my skin away in the process, no?

No. Unless you have Hulk strength.

Wirral.

Or soak it in warm water for a while, then get your tweezers on the case?

I'll kiss it better if that doesn't do the trick

It doesn't have a tail for me to latch on to. All of it is buried. Kisses are always welcome though

East London

Soak it in hot water for 10 minutes and it should pop out when you squeeze it.

Magnesium sulphate in a small tub is a very effective drawing ointment. Blind spots are brought to the surface so hopefully it will work for you op

O.P.

Shallow thorns first.....

Look at it under a magnifier. If you can see it use tweezers if the end is sticking out. If the end isn't sticking out then try sellotape and pull back the opposite way that the thorn went in.

Deep thorns. ( ive done this and it works )

Make a paste with Bicarb or baking powder. Put the paste over the thorn area. Put a plaster over that. Leave it over night. Do NOT mess with it.

In the morning your finger will be soft, white , puffy and dead looking and the thorn will have come to the top of the wound etc......

CLEAN IT THOROUGHLY BEFORE STARTING AND DON'T SQUEEZE

That's the only ingredient, of all the others suggested, that I have to hand. I've left it for over 24 hours so it's fairly deep.

Your finger needs softening overnight.

Get on with it. The paste will cleanse too.

Tatooine

The blood of a bisexual dragon

The feather from a witches corset

The fangs of a dominatrix

and the juice from a 14h century nun

Stand on one leg, doesn't have to be your own, say the magic words: "I love cock" three times so your neighbours hear.

It will have gone by morning.

As a carpenter of over 35years had plenty a splinter over the years.

I have a few methods.

1.

A clean sterile Stanley knife blade is very good.

2.

Suck the fucker out.

3.

Leave it alone usually works it's way out all by itself.
