Oh look, another "who are you thread". I touched upon this in a thread last week iirc.
This little community of ours is as varied as you can get (opinions, am in right?). One thing I keep seeing more and more of is "this is meant to be fun" with regards to the forum and it's threads and posts, but fun is highly subjective. For some people, the Virus and Political sections are the height of fun, but to others it is the furthest thing from fun as you can imagine. Some find the "poster above" threads top of their list, others find them numbingly pointless.
We all take and view fun differently.
So to this I ask, when it comes to the forum, which do you find fun?
What different thread and topics do you find yourself enjoying? |

Truthfully, the Auntie P advice line threads are probably the most fun I have.
Copycat photo challenges are my fave ones, they're bloody fantastic and sometimes have me in stitches.
I dunno, it's very subjective and one person's idea of fun could be shagging someone married, ooooo that's naughty and hot and exciting - for them.
They don't see the other side, the heartbreak, the lies, the betrayal, someone feeling like they've been stabbed through their entire torso with white hot swords.
People don't like seeing the dark side. |

I enjoy a range of topics . I'll join in if there is something I have an opinion on in a thread or the silly joking threads can be good craic at times. Sometimes even when threads go off on a tangent it can be good.
It's the ones where people get shitty and personal or are just pure trolling to get a reaction I find ruin it .And some of the poor me threads which are pure oh look at me threads.
But then it's just as easy to ignore those threads as well and just engage in the ones that do peak your interest. |

I find threads that can actually start a friendly discussion to be the most fun..
I avoid the Politics and Virus threads now because people are entrenched in their views on these subjects and it just degenerates into arguments now |

I think that often the phrase “it’s meant to be fun” is used to try and dismiss a person who has got wound up, upset or angry and that impinges on others ‘trying’ to enjoy the space.
As you say, fun is a very loose term and someone trolling another is possibly fun for the person doing the trolling.
Perhaps we should stop telling people what it’s meant to be and engaging with what it is? |

Without a doubt yours are always, if nothing else, good for a laugh. 
And yet you can be far more insightful and deep than your comedic responses would imply. |

I like threads that invite discussion.
I don't like statement OPs such as "I like toast". Just reminds me of pissed up people thinking their own hand is hilarious.

That's the thing, peaking somebodies interest does so in multiple ways. Some will go looking for a heated debate, while others may enjoy a friendly discussion. And others will be looking for nothing more than a comedic one liner. |

Indeed very few people are open to discussion and only want to push or enforce their own opinion. This is when discussion becomes argument, which never ends in a civil conclusion. |

While I agree, it is also a very broad word as stated. So it gets overused and often misused. |

"I wouldn't say there are many "fun" ones. Some become repetitive and then get boring. I like thought provoking ones or the get to know...each to their own though."
Indeed. I'm. Running low on brain power for thought provoking as of late but I like to add some sort of variety and allow for varied opinions and views to be included in responses. |

Yeah I wouldn't want those threads banned, I know some people love the randomness. It probably is the same as sitting on a kerb after a night out.  |

I can find something or someone in a thread that I like to reply too. Love ones that spark a quip or a feed to a joke. I just want light hearted.
But, if something intrigues and opens a thought. I like them too.
I also like to flirt. Like the lady above.

I like all kind of threads, I like the witty silly posts on a serious one as well the serious answers. I comment on a mix. I don't like the who's the got the or is the best threads. I don't like the top tens and favorites thread. Just because I think we should all be all inclusive. Hate body shaming, kink shaming etc.
Hate it when a thread is just for fun and someone kills it by being too serious on it. |

I don't know really... mostly class clown type stuff. Possibly due to insecurities that I am not going to be taken seriously, so best not to try. That is more a comment on me than others x |

There are a mixed bag of threads that I participate in, some are purely attention seeking, some are silly, some where I share my own experiences or give a view on a topic.
The threads I start are the kind where I can interact with the posters such as when I keep PP's 'good morning' threads going when he takes a break or currently I have a fitness goals thread. I enjoy showing that I appreciate someone's contribution and I always pick up great advice for myself and make new friends.
I use the forum as I want to, and I get from it what I need. This place can be a much needed distraction for me to indulge myself and switch off from the stresses and strains of my outside world life. The fact that my thread preferences are not for everyone else does not impact on me one bit.

In real life I enjoy a serious discussion or even friendly argument but have learned to avoid this online and especially here. So quickly gets out of hand.
Love the silly and funny threads, for example kitty's at the weekend was hilarious.
Often in the Games section, enjoy the mental exercise involved and very friendly people.
Avoid any best of or favourites thread, any politics or any involving dick size. |

Over the years , as I got jaded, I started many a highly fucking inane thread thinking , 'Surely no one would....... ' ......WRONG they would.

I tend to flit about from thread to thread, I do like reading the more serious threads but don’t tend to comment in them.
I pop into the games thread very occasionally, I pop into swingers chat for a read.
