"I got one in TK Maxx for about 8 quid. It’s one of the long hollow ones. Absolutely recommend
They sell them there, I’ll have to investigate. "
What’s it for. Mines great for my thighs and back. Not so great for the arse cheek |

I use one for 2 mins after every run. I think it was an e*ay purchase for about £10. Really good for calf work, you can roll it under your feet to prevent plantar injuries.
I have a very hard knobbly one naturally you can get softer ones.

You can buy cheap or good. If you want good then look at trigger point grid
They hurt like hell if there is fascial tightness and it will take a couple of weeks of daily use for that pain to dissipate, when it it’s not hurting you should keep using as the maintenance is good for the body
They aren’t so much doing anything with the muscle but are breaking down the adhesions between the muscle and the fascia that surrounds it
All in all good
Ps don’t roll your ITB just use a s massage ball at the origin and insertion. Anything else hurt for no benefit |

That’s what I need it for, after runs, my legs feel fucked cause I’ve been running for a year without doing any foam rolling.
Just to clarify, I haven’t been running for a year non stop |

"I have a Trigger Point one which I used to use quite a bit when the gyms were open () and they certainly help to reduce DOMS but they do hurt like hell on the tender muscles I also have a lacrosse ball which I use after the roller to get deeper in to any niggles

Cheers, I’ll Google lacrosse balls, see if I need one. |

They're literally just a hard ball, anything similar will work. Obviously the smaller the ball, the greater the pressure will be on a smaller area of the body though.

Does it have to be a big hard bumpy roller to be effective, cause I’ve seen one by maximo fitness that is more of just a textured surface, I dunno if that will be effective for runners ?! |

I’m 47 and started running last year, I’m lucky my legs haven’t fallen off, with my lack of recovery. |

It's got spikes all over it. I love it. For me, the smoothe ones are good for big muscles but I prefer a firm spikey one for more boney places. |

I feel your pain! You'll naturally gravitate to a distance and pace that feels comfortable. The trick is to mix that up in your sessions and cross train. Do you squat and have a leg day in the gym? |

I've got one but I can't use it....cany seem to get my legs on it and roll about
I've got one that looks like a knobbly rolling pin now I which is much better as you can sit on the sofa and do it and also get right where you need it. |

I don't think you'd appreciate it if I rolled around on yours. |

They are brilliant for recovery, I actually prefer it over my percussion gun. Just watch a few youtube vids on techniques to use it.
I noticed a difference fairly quickly, improved recovery times, felt more flexible, runs were better. Its great on DOMS but a killer!
The good quality ones will last and the cheaper ones tend to lose their ‘solid’ feeling quicker. I also have a massage roller - not foam but plastic with spikes, should be illegal, very painful |

No, I know I should do. I’ve been told running is too hard not to do everything 100%, so I basically I just run which is probably 90% of what I should do, I need to start doing the rest. |
