How many people use (or have used) pull out as their method of contraception? Was it just with your own partner, or with hook-ups as well?
I've never done meets without birth control in place, too much trust in a stranger for me. But the supply chain for my pill had a problem during covid and I've just relied on withdraw with my partner since. We've used it in the past too.
I'm going back on a different pill now ready for later in the year as I still can't get the old one. Did anyone else have issues getting their pill the past year? Xx |

When I was a teenager. Didn't get caught out but never again!
I've had issues with my pill. The one I was on was discontinued then the closest equivalent (same ingredients but slightly different doses) was out of stock in all pharmacies. I didn't want to totally change types and luckily my local sexual health clinic had stock of it. |

Thanks Lacey. It's not just me then. I'm super sensitive to different pills, many/most don't agree with me and can make me very ill. It took me a long time to find one that works. I hate changing them, I was so pissed off when mine seemed discontinued. If I wasn't a swinger and a fan of casual sex I might not have bothered trying a new one. But trusting strangers to pull out correctly is just too risky xx |

I wouldn't trust the withdrawal method as a means of contraception.
The Mrs started getting her pills from the local sexual health clinic when it became impossible to get into see our GP at the start of lockdown. |

Sounds like a few people moved to clinics from GPs. My most local one got closed though, I can get to others after a longer drive xx |

I ended up buying from an online chemist when I had issues getting appointments with the go in lockdown over it, I'd rather pay for something that's normally free, but I always double up protection unless it's with a long term partner |

I take mine for medical reasons too so I was really stressed at the time as it took me so long to get things under control and I didn't want to go backwards. I'm just hoping and praying nothing goes wrong with the one I'm on now! Hope you get sorted! If you go on the BNF website you can look at what is in different contraceptive pills and try and find an equivalent. I also found a chart online on gpnotebook at some point - oral contraceptive pill (comparing oestrogenic and progestogenic effects). It plots them on a chart so you can compare them which is also good for finding a pill that will hopefully affect you in a similar way to one you know. |

Thanks Lacey, I really appreciate it! That comparison sounds extremely helpful as I need to find one as similar in composition as possible, especially in progesterone. Xx |

A lot of people don't do it properly, when done correctly it's nearly as effective as condoms. It's worked well for me, but only with my husband where the risk is acceptable xx |

That's often if the man hasn't urinated since last cumming. Xx |

We used withdrawal for years after having our first baby but we had the understanding that if I got pregnant it would be ok, we just weren’t planning for another baby. Then when we got the stage where we were sure we definitely didn’t want any more children my husband had a vasectomy. If you really don’t want a baby it’s a risky method.
With anyone else I would always use a condom. I am not on any birth control and don’t want a baby or STI, no matter how easy it could be to treat.

Yes I'm guilty of doing it with my partner for eight years. I started to worry I was infertile but then asked him to shoot his load into me and ended up with a little bambino a year later.
I've not been on contraception since I was around 17 years old. I'm still not now since having my daughter and we still use the pull and pray method.
I'd only ever do it with trusted partners I was happy to have a baby with. Although there are a few men I'd love to cream it in raw. |

Semen can leak out of the penis during sex and precum can contain sperm, you can't control that no matter careful |

Haven’t had problems getting birth control(pill/injection) during lockdown(we are east anglia). But have come off all as they mess with my moods too much. Might go back on coil after lockdown/restrictions ease but struggle get appointment at moment. So for now we are on pull out, but it’s with husband and he doesn’t want another child(and not do I) so I trust him to pull out when needed lol.
When it comes to meets its condom |
