"I just wondered what the view is on having a TV in your bedroom. Do you have one there?"
My view isn’t that great cause the TV is down stairs and my bedroom is upstairs. |

"No no and no. I have one in the snug & kitchen diner.
I cant abide tv's in the bedroom, for me a bedroom is a tranquil place for sleep & sex. "
Totally agree, but mainly I'm posting to tease you about being so posh that you have a snug |

Nope! And truth be told I am “not allowed” one in my bedroom
Long story short: I had a tough patch of life a few years back... saw a psychiatrist, was given sleep rules due to my not sleeping properly
1. Bedroom is for sleeping dressing and sex (yep that was actually said)
2. No TVs phones books to be used in bed
So no I do not have a TV in my bedroom and will never have one in there, the blue screen light that reflects of them is really bad for your body clock a bedroom should be a scanty for you to rest
Technically I should not be posting this as I’m on my phone in my bed!!

I used to have one as a teenager and time adult, in part because my mum would monopolise the family TV watching soaps and game shows while I quietly built a kick ass home cinema system upstairs.
When I got together with the lady I've been married to for 23 years now, she was of the opinion that bedrooms are for sleeping and sex... So no television. I can't say I miss it.

No books? Love reading in bed as chills me out! Well, until you fall asleep and get a shock when you drop the book on your face or chest! |

"No, but I watch TV on my iPad, so if it’s cold or I’m uncomfortable in the front room I’ll take it in with me. "
Same for me.
These days I'm sick of sitting in the lounge every evening so I sometimes take my tablet to bed and put a film on. |

Not for me
In bed I need to take my specs off cos I'm a bugger for getting cozy & dozing off
Without specs, I can't see the telly
So, in the bedroom, it's just Alexa with either Magic Chilled or Magic Soul playing |

We currently don’t have a TV in the bedroom and it’ll likely stay that way. I have no issue either way with it. The other day we did make a makeshift bed in the living room to watch a film and properly cuddle up. Was lush. To each their own really. |

"Not a fan of technology in the bedroom, I do have an Alexa for natural sounds to sleep with but it is placed away from my bed.
We know. Your snoring is relayed to the forums "
Sorry Granny, feel free to give me a kick |

"Very council estate "
I lived in a council house on an estate until I was 11 and nobody had telly in their bedrooms . Mind you we are going back a fair way.
I was watching something the other day showing a multi million pound house with tellys in every room, even the shower. |

I grew up on a council estate too - I had a black and white TV as a kid with a dial you had to turn to get the 3 channels and an aerial you had to move around for a reception

"It's not for me. I like to keep my bedroom free of distractions from sleep. "
Same here.
We’ve too much technology that affects sleep, phones, tablets etc.

There is a TV in our bedroom but it's hardly ever used. A colleague gave it to me in Jan 2017 when I was living in bed, unable to walk or stand, so I could have some entertainment but the irony was I couldn't lie in a position that was tolerable pain-wise to see it, so I didn't actually watch it then either! Our daughter occasionally watches cartoons while I'm getting a shower, but I can't actually remember the last time it was on! It's a tiny screen, not a massive on-the-wall thingy. |

I can't find anything to watch on the 87 million channels I've got now
I remember channel 4 starting- it was exciting times |

In the TV?
I remember electricity meters that took 50p pieces - that makes me feel old |

Television has come a very long way since I was a kid. There were as i says two channels, BBC and ITV. There was a short program at lunch time, including something for children and then evening programmes.
We struggled so much with the millions of channels available now that we went and got Prime and Netflix . If we can't find anything on any of those we just have to make our own entertainment |

We have a TV in our bedroom, when the kids were at home they often used the tv downstairs and even when they got great ones in their bedrooms we still used our bedroom tv most. We have an attic bedroom with lovely views out over the village and across the valley, we have lots of trees in our garden so we can hear the birds too. It's not unusual for us to be in bed by 8pm watching a crime/thriller series on amazon prime/netflix/football/speedway |

Yes a tv man usedto collect it. I think it must have been a rental television |

No tv in my bedroom, I don’t read in bed either. When I go to bed my body is conditioned to fall asleep within a few minutes usually.
When I stay in hotel rooms a lot of the time you can’t turn the tv off and there is always a standby light and it really causes me issues to fall asleep |

"Yes I do . I like to hear noise when going to sleep . Just put the timer on then doesn’t matter if I nod off . "
I like noise when going to sleep too. Hubby often carries on watching tv when I'm sleepy as i find it easier to go sleep when there's noise, otherwise i lay awake for hours. |

Have always had one in my bedroom, but was only ever for watching movies as impossible to watch them downstairs with kids.
But now moved house and have a movie room for this so don't have one anymore in the bedroom. |

Yes I have one as I like to relax in bed in the evenings and if my partner is occupying the TV downstairs it's nice to be able to watch what I like on the telly. I can't imagine not having one. I also game with my partner so need another TV that isn't downstairs.
I still have plenty of sex and sleep even with a TV in my bedroom so I'm not bothered about that! |
