Absolute genius, I know people say that about their favourite singers but Bowie stood out, every decade from the 60s onwards he dominated with his ability to change and adapt then towards the end of his stardom he decided to just sink into the background and stay quiet and private unlike many so called stars that become wanabe politicians telling us all what to do and think. I miss him greatly.

Him and Rickman were two people I admired. And to lose them both in a relatively close amount of time was awful.

Loved Bowie.

As you get older you find many of the musicians whose music you grew up on sadly pass away for numerous reasons.

For myself this goes back a long way & having worked in the music world & met a few, it kinda does hit ya hard & there's no immunity from it or lack of tears.

Scott, Bonham, Hailey, Marley, Rhoads, Lynott in the 80s, Freddie in 91, Ronson in 93, Cash in 03, Lemmy in 15, Prince & Bowie in 16, last year Neil Peart & Eddie Van Halen, this year Marsden, Sylvain, Wilson & Corea.

Many other great musicians have left us in the past few years, too many to list but at least we have the music & the memories to appreciate & remind us of their great talents.

I certainly miss him and a lot of other greats, such as Freddie.

This thread made me chortle when I say the header as I earlier updated my status to include one of my favourite lines in his songs and what he said on stage at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert as Annie Lennox left the stage after singing Under Pressure. A concert that I was at..

The guy was an absolute genius in everything he did!!

Bowie was a true legend. Yeah, he shall be missed, many musicians who are not interested in fame still state his influence made their career become what it was. And to stay relevant is just not something even the most successful people can, and do, deliver.

Heroes or Let’s Dance, my two personal favourites....
