Guess the FA will have to be consistent how they handle the issue or racism from now on - what do others think

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Consistency would be welcome. Even better, and more hard hitting, if this isn't deferred until after the competitions. To a non-footie person it looks like Mummy saying, yes go to the party but we'll have a talk later. Either there is a case to answer or not.

He is a moronic twat. I hope him and Terry are dealt with similarly, and that sends a message to everyone about racist abuse.

What Terry did was in the heat of the moment IF he did what some say he did. What Rio did was in the cold light of day with and was calculated which really makes me feel uncomfortable even though I really dislike Ashley Cole. Public apologies from both as I see it and some sort of community service if proved.

Why the IF?

Terry has admitted saying it, the question for the court was whether there was reasonable doubt as to whether he was repeating something or came up with it himself.

The FA do not have the same constraints the court has and can find him guilty regardless to why.

If Ferdinand can prove that choc ice is slang in the way he says, he will be proved innocent

Based on the FA's stance in the Suarez - Evra situation, the tribunal will only need to find that in all "probability" that Terry and Rio are guilty as charged. Rio put into writing the word "choc ice" which apparantly has racial undertones that I personally didn't know, and Terry's offending words are well documented.

I'm expecting both to be found guilty with a minimum of 8 match bans per player.

There's no IF at all, Terry admitted what he said in court and the Judge only found him not guilty becasue there was insufficent evidence to argue against the context that Terry claimed he said it in even though the judge said it was likely that Terry had said the sentance in the way the prosecution alledged.

As it's an FA enquiry the evidence required is substantially less and the tone was set as to the burden of proof in the Suarez - Evra case where Evra alledged that Suarez said "negrito" 20 times, yet Suarez admits to saying it once and to using the word in a manner relevant to his custom with no racial undertones. The FA panel found Suarex guilty and stained his reputation based on the probability that Suarez had used the word in a racial way.
