It's probably at an awkward growing out stage. Which you'd normally avoid by visiting the barber.
Maybe comb it neatly and gel it down? It's not necessarily ideal as a look, but it should stay put. |

Dont wash and condition it every other day, you're stripping natural oils away and drying it out. |

Gel will likely be stronger hold, but might feel more crunchy in your hair. |

Shave it all off. I did this 11 months ago and it's very liberating. Plus, you save on shampoo/conditioner - a quick wipe over with a damp cloth will suffice. |
