I dont go on book face much these days but I've just seen the news about Prince Philip's condition in hospital, and , reading between the lines , it doesnt sound good .
Now I'm by no means a royalist but some of the vile comments about another human being has stunned me . I'm kinda ambivalent in regards to the royals but this is a 99 year old guy who , although hasnt been perfect , is still entitled to a bit of respect and I for one hope he is ok .
I'm not really sure what my point is tbh , just wanted to share a bit of a rant I guess .

Some people feel bad about themselves as they are not nice people.
There therapy is to make others feel as low as they are.
If they feel pain you must feel it too complex.

Facebook & twitter are vile.
I dont do social media, i quit facebook due to harassment towards me, i cant cope with the hate on both platforms.
Im not sure why people feel the need to be horrible.  |

Yep, that would have ruffled a few feathers as it is a bit of a kick in the teeth to others who have elderly and ill relatives who they were not allowed to vist. |

I use Facebook and Twitter a fair bit. It’s easy to filter out people and posts you don’t like or want to see. Of course there’s a lot of rubbish there but it isn’t difficult to keep out. |

I use Facebook to keep in touch with my family who live in various parts of the world. I join groups now and again but as soon as I get a sniff of nastiness I leave the group. That way I can still use Facebook but don't see any of the awfulness.

Social media works on outrage. Upset people and they engage more with your products.
They've profiled you and worked out what will upset you. People are much the same as they ever were. Our views of the world are being skewed tho. |

I only use Facebook to see a few friends' pics and to keep in touch with my family who are abroad. I never post anything on there and get so upset at the hatred and arguments people have. I don't use Twitter or Instagram, Snapchat etc. I'm not really into the Royal Family but I would never say anything cruel about them. I must admit I did have some rotten feelings in my head about Mr Trump, but I wouldn't post anything about him; just my thoughts. |

They are allowed one visitor only where i work although one wife was so distraught we allowed her son in to comfort her. The other son and daughter were not allowed in. This was hours before the man died not a week or two. |

I love it on book face tell them straight what I think.
But yeah I don’t think he is good either. Hope he recovers he’s a nice bloke I personally think and the queen they done no harm to me.

They are allowed one visitor only where i work although one wife was so distraught we allowed her son in to comfort her. The other son and daughter were not allowed in. This was hours before the man died not a week or two."
I don't know if it varies according to location but the ward my mum was in a woman was with her adult daughter night and day for about 72 hours. Obviously I don't know the circumstances and I wouldn't be surprised at all to find that the royals just do what they like. |

I deleted everyone off my f book in lockdown 1. Put 5 people back. 3 friends 2 family. But I barely open it so kinda pointless really.
It's so negative, people are vile, and the picture perfect lubes when you know the truth of it gets on my nerves.

Not on any social media anymore people should be made to stand infront of the person and repeat whatever they said online to their face . I read about all the abuse Sir Captain Tom’s family received after his death should be ashamed of themselves. |

I don't have any social media anymore either, it felt like a playground for bullies.
I am not a fan of the royals but I'd never wish badness or ill on anymore, just be a good kind person, so much easier than being a keyboard warrior gushing spite. |

I enjoy face book but yes agree! Some nasty stuff on there! Mostly just scroll past when u know its gonna b nasty! But did get involved in one on there tuesday they call her barbie girl was on good morning and the vile comments on there really made me sick! People calling her it and other nasty comments! People can b very vile behind a keyboard! X |

I rarely go on FB now as I'm sick of the trolls. I've seen a different side of some good friends - how can you actively wish someone would die??
Yes, he's a Royal, and a bit of a dick. Yes, I'm not a fan of them. But do I want him to die? Of course not.
And for those making comments about understanding "people" for trolling as they were not allowed to see relatives I can only say this - Is that his fault?? From what I can see, him & Liz have been isolating as someone of their age was required to.
(And many hospitals are now allowing 1 visitor - so it can be argued he's NOT receiving special treatment) |

I’m surprised people are so vile on Facebook. It’s got your name and whereabouts you live and often shows your family and friends on it as well.
So future employers or partners get to see your online presence and views. I’d think it would be a lot simpler to have extreme opinions on a site like this one, that shows your underlying negativity rather on a more public forum.
