I know tartan is from scottish clans and the pattern/colours told you which But few in UK/Scotland know one tartan from another.
In term of the symbolism of it, I think it symbolizes strengths, hardiness and freedoms so in the mind it says 'that's a wild one' & presents a challenge to attempt concur (male & female perceptions). |

Technically not the case. Tartan has only been representative of clans and such for the last couple of hundred years. That’s marketing for you. |

Recently traced some of my Scottish roots (combined with some Cherokee), maybe that`s why I fancy The Sturg.
Craigellachi is effectively my home village. Traced the tartan and a few military ancestors.
I should learn how to brew whiskey. that`s with an "e".
