I’ve been having a clear out and didn't know what to do with some old toys and play wear.
I ended up double bagging them in black sacks and took them to the recycling centre and placed them in the general waste.
What would you have done ?
I was hoping no one would go though the bags when I was there. They would have found vibrators. Out of date comdoms and pvc clothing.
I did clean them first. |

"I would have done the same as you, but if I were you (female) I would have sold them lol
Second hand toys ? "
There is a market for used underwear, so I’m convinced their would be a market for second hand toys |

Did similar but just put in my own wheelie bin with rest of rubbish. Didn't feel it necessary to take to dump it site. None of it is illegal so don't know why people are concerned with not putting these things with own household rubbish.. bagged up so not visible . |

I was going to the tip anyway. It wasn’t a special trip |

Always better for the environment if you can recycle things correctly especially battery operated items. |

It’s a slightly different issue, but my friend has an agreement with her best friend. If she dies, this friend of hers has to get round her house ASAP and liberate her box of toys before family find it .
She’s from a highly religious family, and is an ordained vicar herself. |

Yeah I’ve got a black bag of outfits which no longer fit and the odd toy. It’ll be a shame to throw coz some are still in great condition. So they will continue to occupy the corner of our bedroom until I can come up with an idea |

So today I need to go to the recycling centre to dispose of some garden waste.
Do I go to the same one that I disposed of the sex toys at ? What if you they went though the bags after I left and from the cctv worked out who they belonged to ? Maybe I’m over thinking it ??
Or another local one. |

Sod it, to to the same one! None of them will say anything even if they notice that you’re the toy dumper anyway. |

I guess it depends on if the toy contains electronics.
No electronics stuff it in bag and bin it. Unlikely it'll get noticed as in your bin amongst the rest of the rubbish.
Contains electronics, then it needs to be disposed of as WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment). Box it up with a bunch of other house hold electronic on top drop it off at your local tip (or the tip at the other end of your county\district if you don't want to be recognised) and walk away causally hopefully before they start sorting through the box, busy times at the tip work in your favour then. Or use one of return schemes run by companies which sell electronic sex toys.
Definitely room for improvement on less embarrassing discrete disposal options.

Upcycling/repurposing
Some toys could make a nice toilet roll holder.
Coat hangers? Door handles? Gear stick if you’re restoring an old car?
Maybe even garden decorations???
Possibilities are endless!

Same recycling centre and next time just give them to the youngest member of staff and say you need a hand.
Then when you need a hand all will be there.
But I would guess they have seen it all before.you see trucks with Ted's on the front.
So why not a rabbit.
But if binning check batter's have been removed. |
