OMG who has seen this series on Ch4?
Absolutely loved it!
Really relatable as I completed my teens in the 80s and being non homophobic I really got into the characters and loved the roller coaster of emotions
If you haven’t yet..... Watch It!! |

after watching all of it, I have to say how it nailed the feeling of the time. AIDS was the unknown virus killing gay guys, almost an unspeakable. Previously named GRID (gay related immuno deficiency) , lack of knowledge at the time of what they were dealing with. It was even considered to bury people that died of this in concrete. Russell T Davis captures exactly what was going on in that era.
I have worked with some people that will find this very hard watching having lost friends to AIDS related illnesses in the 80s/90s.
I would like to think that as a lot of people have enjoyed watching the series, that they might understand the stigma around HIV. |
