Nature walks could be fun. I'm quite lucky as I got a huge lake near me so I take my kids there to feed the geese and swans. Last time we went there, the surface was frozen over so they trying to break the ice for 2 hours. Simple and free too lol I'm sure you can take him somewhere. Sometimes you just need to think outside the box

carrbrook stalybridge

Medlock valley from phillips park near the etihad nice walk along the river.

Fallowfield loop walk or ride along the old railway line

Both not far from city center
