I've been pricked on my prick with previous partners.

No condom as they were partners, so just wandering if anyone has ever damaged a condom on a coil?

I think the coil goes in the uterus... And unless you've got the biggest dick in the world (and you've punctured her cervix too) I doubt you need to worry. And if you have punctured her cervix, I'd be more concerned about that than the condom x

The string (which is a bit like fishing wire) attached from the coil protrude through the cervix into the top of the vagina for removal. Mine can be felt apparently, not sure it would damage a condom though...

It's not something that has ever happened with me.

Maybe the coil wasn't where it should be as they can sometimes move I believe but not sure if this is very common.

Yes I have had this happen. The strings hanging down from the coil caught on the condom of my well endowed partner of the time and caused it to rip.

I've had two partners with a coil...

The first, I felt it a few times, and lets just say that I never want to feel that again! It was just a tad uncomfortable to say the least, and eventually she had it removed under a GA as there was an issue.

The second lady who I know had one, well, lets just say I was a tad nervous to say the least. But while I think I could feel it, it was okay, nothing remotely near the pain encountered previously.

As much as I'd love to say I've the girth and length of a baseball bat, I don't.

My coil has took a few bashings and sometimes digs into me which is sore.

I've never had one. Why use a coil then if it can be felt or if it hurts? There are other methods of contraception?

"I've never had one. Why use a coil then if it can be felt or if it hurts? There are other methods of contraception?"

It’s just the strings that can be felt sometimes on mine. I have no pain at all, I get no periods (which suits me fine), covered for five years for pregnancy (I still have safe sex outside of my relationship) and my skin has never been better. I’m too forgetful to take the pill daily (and the pill triggers my migraines) and I pile on weight with the injection. For me it’s an absolute god send xx

Thanks Guys.

I'm not alluring to the size of my Penis, it's average size.

I do feel something though in certain positions and I get a red dot where it's got me.

I just thought it could be an issue with practicing safe sex if you care about more than just the contraceptive aspect that is!

Agree with this. Had the coil in for 4 years. No periods, no weight gain and not such bad mood swings as I’ve had with other types of contraception. Too forgetful for pill, implant wasn’t good for me after children and injection made me hormonal and killed my libido.

Od could sometimes feel the string but it never caused any pain. Freya x

I was told it was the most permanent option I was allowed at my age and number of children, five years ago.

It was the best option for my partner at the time and for me too as she went a bit crazy on the chemical options!

Those strings are sharp though,if they can mark my skin what damage do they do to condoms?

In the past with a partner that had a coil, the wire used to cause problems. We didn't use condoms, but with the sharp stabbing it sometimes caused I can see how it might mess with condoms if you're unlucky.

I've only had a problem once, as I say.

The strings are not sharp it’s just like a tampax string it definitely wasn’t the string causing you to mark.I had a new coil put in recently and when me and my husband were having sex the coil was digging into him making the end of his cock sore maybe that’s what it was.

Oh,I was starting to accept the string explanation there! they never drew blood thankfully! However it certainly feels sharp enough, more like the tip of a guitar string than a needle!

Thanks Freya you got missed out of the reply and Quote there! On your day too!

It is the strings I think, apparently they soften over time. So beware of the newly fitted ones Od!

They are used for medical reasons too.

Haha, no problem, I only said the same as previous yes, that’s probably true, that they soften with time. Freya x

Sometimes the string has given David a bit of irritation for a day or two but I think the position has a big effect on this as well.

Ondeed. I was sterilised at age 35 but had the coil fitted due to very heavy bleeding.
