I’ve done a few of these posts over the years. My last was six months ago when I’d just had confirmation surgery.
So; for those who’re interested/following here’s my update. |

I
I had my surgery to construct my vagina on the 11th of august 2020 and spent a week in hospital.
I’d also had Liposuction to harvest the weight i’d deliberately gained and put it into my breasts.
Both operations were a complete success.
I won’t pretend recovery was easy as the combination of the operations made for more swelling in my vagina than usual. I didn’t know it at the time but I also had an infection brewing.
I’d finished the renovation of my house including creating an attic bedroom suite just before I went in. This has proved invaluable. With lots of space, automatic roof windows and blinds and a lovely big shower nearby, the three weeks I spent in there without venturing downstairs were bearable. Just.
So after a week in hospital and three weeks mostly in bed I was finally alone to look after myself.
That wasn’t easy either. I was still very tender and as the nerves recovered, I had stabbing pains too.
I tired very easily and had naps throughout the day.
Three months on I was finally feeling a bit closer to normal.
So it’s now been six months and I’m still a bit swollen down there. She looks really good. If I open myself with my fingers I look so natural.
I’ve posted a few pics that don’t really show her as she’s still settling down. Apparently it’ll be about 12 months until the last of the swelling has gone.
I was supposed to have had the second part of my fat grafting op by now but the hospital have opened up for the nhs and are very busy with Covid cases.
So in the meantime I’m having vocal surgery in a day clinic next Thursday.
After that surgery I won’t be allowed to speak, or cough, sneeze, whisper or even mouth words for at least ten days. Then I’ll be saying a few words and doing gentle exercises. It’s a twelve month wait to be fully recovered with lots of work from me to make the most of the surgery.
I have my fat grafting booked for may now.

Wow...sounds like you've being going through it...Good for you and hope you'll be ok and happy when all your ops' are finished, and you have my sympathy for when you go to the loo for a pee...'ouch' it will sting!  |

Actually, when the catheter came out I was then able to pee properly. It didn’t sting at all and felt quite normal.
However, it’s taken six months for me to be able to pure without it going all over my bum 
Good job I have my shower! I’ve had so many showers  |

Hormones change the voices of trans men. The older they are the less effect though.
They have no effect on trans women.
We have to train our voices to varying degree of success.
I’ve been pretty successful but still get misgendered on the phone quite often. I never get misgendered face to face.
I’m having a modified glottoplasty.
There are several ways you can reverse the dropped voice testosterone caused. This way they use a laser to strip off the outside of my chords where they meet.
They then stitch them together, effectively shortening them.
It’s like putting a kapo on a guitar and it retunes you.
It’s all done endoscopically through my mouth. |

sorry for laughing but I know just how you feel, sounds such a simple thing to do in principle doesn’t it but in practise it’s completely different

As for someone else who was asking about voice and hormones, I’m afraid not. Once testosterone does it’s damage in puberty by thickening the vocal chords, that can never be undone. The most common surgery s done by shortening the chords to try and induce a higher pitch, is that what you’re going for ? |

The swelling has made peeing difficult. Apparently I bruise and swelled way more than most.
I described the surgery further up. They’re stitching the top third together to effectively shortening them.
This is a much less risky op than the other options. |

It was developed at the yeson centre in South Korea. I was going to go there but Covid.....
The surgeon in the uk , I think is the only one. |

I read your initial post and have to say I sat here grimacing and with my legs crossed ...... I've seen the op performed on TV..... So I can only imagine the discomfort you have gone through AND in the process revamped your home.

I imagine the idea of this surgery probably does make men cross their legs. I cried with a mixture of happiness and relief as they knocked me out.
The house revamp I finished the night before my surgery it’s added between 300 & 350 to the value... it’s not sold yet though! That was a hard six months work! |

Lol I used to say that this with a bit of a litmus test for those that were on the fence about having the surgery or not, watch the video and see how it makes you feel to know that’s what would be happening to your bits.
I hate medical shows and blood and guts type stuff with a passion but weirdly watching this procedure being done was somehow peaceful for me and was that last piece that came together to cement in my mind it was the right thing for me.
So happy now and have never looked back.

I watched so many youtube videos. Seeing the orchidectomy (removal of the testicles) triggered tears. I hated having those so much.
I’ve gone through life being cruel to what was between my legs. Hurting it in every way I could as I hated it so much. It manifested as a bdsm thing but it was just dysmorphia. I came close to taking a blade to it and them several times.
I now have to learn to allow myself to seek pleasure from those nerve endings. That’s proving confusing so far. It’s early days yet though.
It feels so natural to be like this now. Already the memory of what was seems to be of someone else rather than me.
I want to discover now. To kiss someone passionately and see how I respond. I always wanted to draw a lover in even though something was in the way. I’m sure I’ll still feel like that..... only now, I can |

I’ve tried to contact the gic I was referred to but they ignore all communications, including the one from my Gp asking their guidance on my oestrogen levels when they were over 2500..... that’s a very dangerous level.
So as far as I know I’m still on the nhs waiting list to see a specialist. (Gic).
Non urgent nhs guidelines say that should be a maximum of 18 weeks but I’ve been waiting 153 weeks and expect my triage appointment in another year or so.
So to answer the question: I gave up waiting as I had come close to taking my own life a couple of times.
I’ve paid for my own hormones. Consultations and assessments to get onto hormones. Laser hair removal from my face and genitals. Two separate psychiatric assessments to allow me to have surgery. Two surgeons, one to do my vagina, the other my breasts. Paid for a week in a private hospital (outstanding food!)
Ive already paid for my second fat graft as it was cancelled as I travelled to London for it.
Just paid for my vocal surgery.
The nhs are now involved as they do my blood tests and prescribe my hrt.
It’s pretty expensive.
The divorce more so. The loss of my wife was very painful. |

I don’t think we’re friends now. She suddenly stopped talking to me and coming round when she found herself a man.
They’ve since parted and I extended the hand of friendship but it’s not been taken.
So sad after 18 years. I dog sat every day and did her washing for six months after we split.
Perhaps it’s for the best. |

Ten days of silence then a few words a day for a week or two, working up with vocal exercise.

Actually, when the catheter came out I was then able to pee properly. It didn’t sting at all and felt quite normal.
However, it’s taken six months for me to be able to pure without it going all over my bum

What's worse is when someone pees on the seat & you then sit on it...YUK

I am a bit ocd about hygiene and house cleanliness so I shower and then clean the loo every time it happens. I use soo much loo roll too!
The next house is definitely getting bidets.
I’ve fitted about 850 bathrooms while I was self employed and only three bidets, all three for the same customer. |

I totally get the ocd when you still have infection risks to consider (dont know if ocd is your normal)...honestly you'll get used to it & you'll relax...bidets are good fun btw as is a shower head |

When I joined this site, with my wife, I presented as a tv. I looked very much a man in women’s clothing. I focused on my legs and bum as my most feminine features and was just looking for sexual experience.
If you asked me if I was a transvestite though, I’d have said no. I knew it was just a beginning. We all start somewhere and not all of us go as far as I am going.
