Site Supporter bias?

Jump to: Newest in thread

So I've noticed a few times when reading profiles and forum posts that people have a bias towards site supporters...

Most will not consider anyone who isn't one, and I've come across several where they've blocked messages from non-supporters

Now, don't get me wrong, I totally understand this, it's an extra level of assurance that the person you're speaking to is genuine... my only gripe is that due to the world we live in at the moment, a lot of people like myself won't have the cash to justify using on something like a site membership

I don't think a lot of people have taken that into consideration, especially couples who may have a dual income.

I don't want this to come across as a "woe is me" post, because it isn't, i just feel its a genuine talking point that most won't have considered.

Feel free to voice your opinions on this below, and have a good day

Women here can get dozens or even hundreds of messages a day. Whilst it would be great to filter them by “he’s a bell-end” and “abusive twat” those options aren’t available.

People use what they can. Unfortunately some hidden gems will be lost but that’s always the way. It’s either that or employ a team of admin assistants to go through each message

Its just 10p per day,(£5.00 for 50 days) for silver membership. If you can't afford that even in these times, surely you have bigger things to worry about than being on here where we can't meet at the moment anyway?

I do it because newbies and serial returners arent often site suoporters, so it helps as a filter.

Its not expensive compared to a pint, or a sandwich deal or whatever.

There's a lot of it about on the forums. Indirect discrimination- "join in on the video threads". Site supporters only.

It isn't discrimination to have preferences. No one owes anyone anything.

If you don't want to subscribe, that's your choice. But for a lot of people it shows a committment to the lifestyle, and a willingness to contribute to the running of this site that we all enjoy.

£5 every 2 months (or near) really is not alot.

I am skint most the time lately too and I can afford it.

It is extra security against fakes and timewasters. I would pay more if it offered more protection from them as they are the biggest pests on this site

It's like many things on fab - people use it as a filter. That's their choice. Generally, I think a higher proportion of people who use the forums will do this - which is only a small proportion of fab users.

If you genuinely cannot afford 10p per day, then I'm really sorry to hear that, and I hope you can access the support you need.

How does £2.50 a month to view message chains and videos protect against fakes and time wasters?

I'd assume the people unlikely to meet will be here for the porn videos.

People who have been here for a fairly long time will have typically developed their preferences from their experience here. If things change substantially for them, once lockdown and restrictions are eased, they will potentially change them. You cant really knock people for doing things that they have found works for them, especially if this was after a lot of time wasted or worse, whilst they came to those conclusions.

Be grateful for anyone who makes things clear to you and saves you effort in contacting them needlessly. There are thousands more here who are different, that you can focus attention on instead.

It's tough for anyone when finances are short and some current site supporters with these preferences restricting contact, may face financial difficulties to come, too and perhaps change their minds. Change is inevitable but the easiest thing for us is to change our own expectations and behaviour, based on what we've learned.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies

I just want to say, I will be buying a supporter status when i'm able to, its just i cant justify it at the moment when times are rough.

I come here mainly for the community anyways. Any meets (when we're able to), are just a bonus to me

It just sucks when when you see someone you think you'd click with and then arent able to strike up a rapport.

I understand it puts off fakes, but isnt that why we have photo verification? To prove its you?

Photo verifications are stupidly easy to fake with all the photoshopping that goes one now.

I take meet verifications as genuine only, even cams have been looped

You will experience this a lot OP, not just on site supporter basis (which is rare) but for many other reasons. It's just another filter. If you're not matching a criteria, just concentrate on those you're more closely aligned with.

Proving you are who you say you are is only half of it, I want to know that any person I invest time getting to know isn't going to disappear once his hard-on has subsided.

As has already been mentioned, there are obvious fakes but also men who are real but only come on when they want a cheap thrill/their partner is away or when they're bored. I'm not interested in being someone's waste of time of providing them with a cheap wank. I only want "genuine" people invested in the lifestyle.

My thinking is at least with site supporters there is some chance the person is worth the effort to write a message to .. absolutely understand OPs thinking about money ..However, what we are really talking about if a fiver and that's pretty much within most peoples budgets I would say .. not all but most .. so it's worth the relatively modest investent

I use it as a filter to keep the skinflints away. I know times are tough but if a guy can't afford just £5 then he probably isn't going to be able to afford to travel to meet me or pay halves on a hotel or even buy a coffee. Anyway, why should you get if for free? What do you contribute to society for nothing?

I find it strange that you can actually message people without paying towards the upkeep of the site.

No other site allows you to do that at all...

It would stop the guys after a quick meet whilst they are horny, if they had to pay.

We don’t really look to see who’s a supporter or not...it wouldn’t influence our decision to meet or not but no verifications and not much on peoples profiles would make us not respond.

FYI the ability to filter out the people you don’t want contacting you or viewing your profile is limited on here so blocking non site supporters is way of filtering out fake single men. Some guys make profile after profile because they have been blocked so I use it as another way to stop those fake faceless profiles from contacting me.

"It isn't discrimination to have preferences

Well, that would depend on what the "preference" is.

Anyway, I have in previous lives on here, and right now, been a site supporter. When my supporter pass expires, I won't be renewing it, ever. I don't think the pass gives you a lot of added value, but did it to support the site I enjoy.

However, I have sadly found that when it comes to moderation and administration on the forum, some of the decisions made are highly questionable, and in a lot of cases wrong. However, the thing that vaporises my piss is when you try and approach the mods or admin about decisions, or get a discussion on why you feel their decision should be reviewed, explained, or discussed to help make the site a better place for all, it draws a blank silence.

If the site isn't supporting it's members, why should the members support the site?

Absolutely all of this

The owners do not respect its members and if there were a better site out there many would of left here a long time ago...."

Tbh I'm a supporter for the benefits to me not the site as I shd think everone is tbh? I can put up many more pics/vids which I enjoy! For £30 for 10 months I think is amazing value! X

No one owes you anything!

People are here for their own sexual pleasure, and if it doesn't involve you, oh well.

If you're struggling to spend £5 I think you have bigger things to worry about. On the one hand you acknowledge people's preferences, but the entitlement is evident. Why do you think you should be given access to someones body? Do you think if you were a site supporter then you'd be lining them up to get balls deep when this covid nightmare is over?!!

Unfortunately this is just simply a person's preference how they want to speak with... For example we won't have a deep conversation or swap pictures with someone that has not been verified themselves.... And we don't accept friend requests until us ourselves have verified that person all I'd say is yes it probably can be frustrating for some people but you still have to respect who they want to speak with, age/ethnicity /size/sex/verification/site supporters etc its totally the persons choice

Just one more thing to add to this... people are saying "Its only £5!"

Well, it might average out as that, but it asks for a larger payment up front to cover several months, and THAT's what i cant justify at the moment. Is that 25/35 better on here or on my gas meter?

You can get a supporters pass for a £5 text message. It's the more expensive way, per day, of getting a pass, but if you want it, that's what it is. In terms of the fees asked, they are not expensive, and you can still do a lot on the site without being a supporter. I won't become a member just to contact those who only want supports contacting them. It's just a filter.

I paid to support the site, not for the limited benefit it offers. I have become disillusioned with the how the forums are moderated and how the site owners / admin do not respond to members queries or provide any kind of support. So, when my pass expires, I won't be renewing at any point in future.

I think you have answered your own gripe. It's probably better to spend the money on gas than waste your energy on here. We all have to save up for things we want in life and yes, times are tough. But if lots of people didn't contribute to this site and wanted freebies.... there wouldn't be one!

The other arguments/reasoning I'm totally on board with but not the poor shaming. £5 may not be a lot in the grand scheme of things but when you have a low income, that could be a couple of days worth of meals. Also, struggling financially doesn't mean you shouldn't be allowed to have any joy in your life, this smacks of poverty porn TV when tabloid social media comments criticise benefit recipients for having Sky TV.
