"Yeah I know, sexy eh. What kind of houseplants would you suggest for a sunny living room? . Big and small please "
Yucca tress grow as small or large as you like. We have one over 12ft tall in our stairwell. They're easy to grow, need virtually no attention and look great illuminated with led lights.
Weeping fig is great and leafy but doesn't like drafts.
Aloe vera makes a nice house plant and is easy to grow plus you can use the leaves to provide aloe gel.

"A couple spring to mind, for the big one an Erectus Superensi and for the small one a dictus worthlessius
To be fair i have no idea about plants, as you may have guessed sorry !"
I asked the guy in the garden centre about these, he said they don't have any in stock at the moment but if I go after they've closed tomorrow he'll show me his personal collection |

I have a yucca and an aloe. I'd like a display in one corner of green plants of varying heights. Weeping fig sounds like it would fit that description. |

"Dracaena are nice, and I like calathea, but they need regular spraying. "
I had a dracaena but it developed a kind of white mould and I eventually had to get rid of it. It's made me a bit wary and wonder if my living room is the wrong climate for it.
Calathea look as if they'd add a bit of interest in terms terms of leaf shape and colour |

I wasn't sure if you'd take my suggestion serious or not.
But they are great for unwanted guests.

I saw today in the garden centre that they have separate soils and foods for orchids
p.s. garden centres are a great drainer of wallets. We only went in for a plant pot - we came out with 3 pots, a new plant, some canes, a bathroom air freshener, a car air freshener and a bar of chocolate |

Money plants last forever as long as you don’t give them much water. I also have some hyacinths that’s are just coming into flower and a huge purple sprig of orchids, which also just mist not water in winter.
I buy most of my houseplants in Lidl and keep them on windowsills that my pets can’t reach as they all like to nibble. |

They are beautiful, and they move around during the day. They just need regular spraying to stop the leaves curling up and dying around the edges. |

I've got a dragon tree in my office room upstairs - looks really nice and easy to maintain.
I has a venue fly trap last year and it was stupidly temperamental... slightly too much or little water / heat / air and it started to curl up and die! |

If anyone didnt suggest yet. Succulents are beautiful and need little maintenance, the hanging ones are specially decorative, string of Pearl's is my favourite and don't forget some aloe vera and sanseveria or snake plants as air purifiers |

From my experience plants from B and Q are great if they have just arrived in store, otherwise they are often neglected and die from lack of care. |

I received a plant for Christmas. I began the day without a care in the world. No responsibilities at all. Come dinner time, I'd suddenly become the Guardian of a plant, with the responsibility of looking after it. I'd have been happier with a book token. |

Lilies are lethal - do not let fallen petals or stamens get into cat territory. Cut flowers can also be dangerous to pets. |

Don't worry, LornaJo. I've always had cats and my fave flowers are lilies. They don't go near them. It's like they innately know not to eat them.

I've got a big Japanese peace lilly in my front room that I've had for years.
It desperately needs re potting but I'm scared of murdering it

It must be a resilient plant because most plants that come to live with me pass away

Obviously I know nothing about their care but I do know some plants like being in a small pot. I bet it you got the correct soil it would be ok anyway. Don't quote me though. |
